Restaurant and Nano-brewpub

Cool space in West Village that has a small bar on the ground level and then a larger space underground with a larger bar and tables for eating. With it being in West Village, the crowd is a bit more ’high class,’ but still carries a laid back atmosphere. I did not try any of the food, but the options did look really good. For a place in West Village it has a pretty good beer selection, but I would not consider this a complete beer place. Though most of the beers are craft brews. All of the beers are $5 and they vary on size. I think this is a good model to go by especially in you’re on a budget. The one time I was there, we had problems getting served while sitting at the bar when it got a bit busier on a Friday night. Overall, this a pretty good place if you happen to be in West Village and hanging out. Definitely worth going back to visit and trying the food this time.

Pleasantly surprised for Union Bear - feel out of place in the West Village. Very good tap selection including some brews not seen in similar establishments. Food is well above average including tasty pizzas, sandwiches and salads. Great ambiance including some outdoor dining / drinking options. They should be brewing their own beer in just a few weeks, too.
