This place is all about the beer. Wierd commercial basement location with a small corner of beer taps. Nice selection with samplers or full pours. Very limited hours but if youre in town you should definitely hit it up and try a couple samplers of amazing beer.

A great little tasting room in this basement brewery located in a funky turn of the 20th century office tower. Nine offerings on tap all at 1.50$ each...and these are high quality offerings! They do have some snacks to buy, but this is for beer imbibing. Barkeep/master of vinyl was friendly. Please note the odd hours, but as David said, the focus here is brewing. Still, fun time tasting beer, eating pork rinds amongst barrels!

Visited on a Sunday (entrance is at the front of the building, then go down to the basement and follow the smell of brewing and beer). There was some great live acoustic music playing, tables set up to sit at, and a nice sample of all the regular upright beers along with 5 different taps. They also had one one-off for sale still in bottles. All the samples were pretty cheap (same with growler fills or full pours) and it was pretty neat to sit in an actual brewery (some tables were set up beside the vats etc) and drink their beer in a relaxed atmoshphere.

The basement brewery. Tucked away at the bottom of the Left Bank project, itís reminiscent of a speakeasy with barrels everywhere. Service has gotten much better since the hiring of their new íbartenderí, and itís very relaxed most of the time. Tap selection is minimal but since 4 of the 8 are in constant rotation, itís worthy of a visit because itís unlikely to be unchanged. The value is ridiculous, and well deserving of a 10. Highly recommended.

This place was so hard to find. It was fun to watch as people entered the brewery and realized that they had arrived. The looks of surprise and elation provided no small amount of entertainment. Itís a small place and a bit of a labyrinth to get to, but totally worth it. They had a record player spinning old country standards, and we sipped our amazing sours amidst fermenters and barrels. A great experience, and we left with a ton of good beer.

Visited around 1pm on Saturday 25/05/13, just after opening.
Upright is located in the basement of a 3 or 4 storey building.
Downstairs is the brewery itself, lots of barrel ageing projects underway and you can pretty much sit amongst it all.
The place was pretty quiet on my visit, 2 groups of 2, plus my party of 6. The guy serving was friendly and informative. Thereís 10 taps and about 10 bottles (to drink in or go).
5oz pours weighed in at a very reasonable $1.50!
Really nice set up - a definate visit on a beer tour of PDX !

difficult to find as itís located in the basement of an old bank building, but itís a fun place to stop in for a few sips and look around at the operation. the small size of the operation is clear as they only have a few tables stuck in and around the fermenters and barrel racks. beer quality ranges from okay to great, with some of their non-standard offering being the most interesting (such as classic german pils and gruit). people are friendly, prices are fair, and the whole experience was fun. itís nice to see them care about the ingredients and the process unlike so many other upstarts. itís probably a place more suited for travelers than locals, though, as there are a ton of other places in town in better neighbourhoods and with better facilities (and patios).

Visited during their anniversary release. Small place, odd location ... but that is part of the charm. This is strictly a tasting room, with a quaint and comfortable atmosphere. They had numerous taps, providing a great representation of their brews. Alex is a great guy, and even though it was insanely busy, you could tell he is very approachable, open, and good-natured. 12 oz. pours were anywhere from $2-$3 ... awesome. I look forward to swinging by on my next trip to see what they are up to.

Was here during the Fantasia release. Very lucky vacation time to be here. It was quite crowded, but still loved it. As others have mentioned it was in the basement of law firm I think. Lots of tanks all around. Very small "tasting" room, but everyone was all around. Nice feel, great people, greater beer.
