OK, I loved this place. It was in a basement. It was hard to find with impossible hours. Almost no seating. Wait, but there were tons of happy people! Prices super fair. The guy pouring the beer knew a ton (I think he brewed as well). It was a great location for true beer nerds. The non-beer geeks would never find it. Lots of chatting between groups.

A quaint little tasting room in the basement of an unsuspecting building with a lovely charm. The brewmaster pours 10 (9 Upright) beers on tap in sampler sizes, 12 oz pours or growler fills for very reasonable prices, along with offering a few bottles to go. Great little place to stop in on a warm day for some of Uprightís saison specialties.

Location very strange and hard to find. Basement brewery and lots of barrels, brewing equipment and strange stuff everywhere with some chairs to sit. LP record player was maybe too hipster for me. This place is not open often but if you are visiting Portland and it is open this is must stop. Amazingly cool place. Their saisons were also great unlike saisons from USA usually.

This place was so hard to find. It was fun to watch as people entered the brewery and realized that they had arrived. The looks of surprise and elation provided no small amount of entertainment. Itís a small place and a bit of a labyrinth to get to, but totally worth it. They had a record player spinning old country standards, and we sipped our amazing sours amidst fermenters and barrels. A great experience, and we left with a ton of good beer.

This place is all about the beer. Wierd commercial basement location with a small corner of beer taps. Nice selection with samplers or full pours. Very limited hours but if youre in town you should definitely hit it up and try a couple samplers of amazing beer.

A great little tasting room in this basement brewery located in a funky turn of the 20th century office tower. Nine offerings on tap all at 1.50$ each...and these are high quality offerings! They do have some snacks to buy, but this is for beer imbibing. Barkeep/master of vinyl was friendly. Please note the odd hours, but as David said, the focus here is brewing. Still, fun time tasting beer, eating pork rinds amongst barrels!

Visited on a Sunday (entrance is at the front of the building, then go down to the basement and follow the smell of brewing and beer). There was some great live acoustic music playing, tables set up to sit at, and a nice sample of all the regular upright beers along with 5 different taps. They also had one one-off for sale still in bottles. All the samples were pretty cheap (same with growler fills or full pours) and it was pretty neat to sit in an actual brewery (some tables were set up beside the vats etc) and drink their beer in a relaxed atmoshphere.

The basement brewery. Tucked away at the bottom of the Left Bank project, itís reminiscent of a speakeasy with barrels everywhere. Service has gotten much better since the hiring of their new íbartenderí, and itís very relaxed most of the time. Tap selection is minimal but since 4 of the 8 are in constant rotation, itís worthy of a visit because itís unlikely to be unchanged. The value is ridiculous, and well deserving of a 10. Highly recommended.
