The staff here spoke a little English, I was with a friend who could speak Japanese so all was good. Good beer, great food, Wasabi pizza anyone? Had their ’house’ beer made by Baird and it was great. Went next door to the other venue and was just as good.

As it was Dec.30th when I popped in they had 700 yen half pints and 1000 yen pints but they decided to cancel the 1100 yen tasting set even though it was on the menu. That being said, service was knowledgeable & friendly enough but for the event it was cash on delivery. The selection was good with a Masaji Beer I was trying to track down & some really nice ales on hand pumps-all beers I had were in great condition. The atmosphere was nice with the sitting bar being all dark woods & a bit classy whereas the standing bar was more of a rough hewn rowdy atmosphere. A really nice place but after hearing tons of effusive praise for it in Kansai I was expecting to get my socks knocked off.

Went here at a pretty quite time, so would be unfair to really comment on ambiance, but the service was very good, with an OK selection of beers, some good Japanese brews. Would definitely go back if nearby.

Definitely warrants a visit to the two pubs. A few beers I hadn’t seen elsewhere. Simple food on offer. Friendly bartenders. Small space in both bars but probably won’t be a problem. They’ve turned an empty key-keg into a fish bowl.

Just visited one of the two Ushi-Tora ( the other one was closed on mondays ). We were a large group of foreigners in a very small pub, but the staff was very friendly, the pub itself pretty cool and the selection was awesome . Strictly Japanese micro brews on tap there, even if the place is decorated with lots of things from U.S micros such as Rogue etc... Staff spoke very little english, but enough to understand and give some ( good ) advice. A must go when in Tokyo, even if it is a bit tricky to find...

This is a great place, well actually 2 places. One sit-down/different food (fx. small bar/snack dishes)/nice beer selestion ..... another stand-up,/1 food (a nice soup)/a bit less beers. They have Sake on tap, fantastic. I will come back.....

Very well calculated selection here – much rarities you do not see elsewhere. Prices are rather high but so they are all around Tokyo. Good service like in all places around here. The non‐smoking place is not stand‐only anymore. Actually the smoking section looked more like that.

A close call as to whether this or Popeye was my favourite pub in Tokyo (or in Ushi-Tora’s case, should that be ’pubs’). Ushi-Tora 1 - had a great chat with the bar man, really friendly, and impressive range of Japanese and US micros. Ushi-Tora 2 - all 8 Mikkeller Single Hop IPA on tap...enough said.

Insanely expensive. If you can get beyond that, then you’ll enjoy yourself. All the finest Japanese microbrews are offered here in a very calm, relaxed setting.

Great selection, second only to Popeye’s.
Very pricey, even for Tokyo. For example, a Pint of Green Flash was about 1500yen (US$18), so bring a fat wallet.
Was a smoky place but they just opened a new room next door which is non-smoking (but standing only).
