Smallish bar smelling of oak with tables for about 60 people and long wooden bar, 46 beers on tap, mix of local and Westside, nothing specially exciting though, small food menu, not a very enthusiastic bar tender, a few lcd screens with sports, soft rock, no flights. Nothing special here.

My last stop before heading back to Newport, Jersey City. I was in a hurry but had to try a beer here. My choice became Bells Hopsoulution Ale, not bad at all! Solid tap list, but mostly well known craft breweries from all over the US or from Europe. Sadly, no flights. The bar was well attended and service was efficient and friendly. A decent, if somewhat tiny, bar that my girlfriend and I popped into while spending an evening in Manhattan, mostly due to their having Einstok beers on tap. The atmosphere was fine, with dim lighting, standard pub furnishings, and the like, as opposed to where one might have expected bearskins, trestle tables, and axes on the walls, per the name. There were a handful of patrons supplying plenty of screaming and pounding on tables, however, even on a relatively non-crowded Sunday night. The service was all right, if a bit unknowledgeable regarding the contents of their own tap list. We did not try any food. The tap list seemed well put together, and featured good imports, a decent assortment of good beers from around the country, and a fair chunk of local and regional beers. The beer was served with all the proper beer geek boxes checked - glassware, temperature, pour, and so forth. Might return, if anyone could ever convince me to get anywhere near Manhattan or NYC in general ever again. I’d probably turn down a job offering a high six figure salary if it came with the stipulation that I’d have to move there.

Stopped in on way to screening. Normal looking joint. Decent selection happen to have one awesome beer on. Food was just regular bar food i had a brat fine enough. Service was lacking it was a bit busy but had trouble getting bartenders attention. Overall though not a bad stop if in this area.

Good option and not too far from Central Park. I came by during happy hour but honestly can’t remember if it worked out much cheaper than regular times. Semi-interesting tap selection and a few new beers for me but also filled with beers you’ll catch elsewhere around the city. There were plates of snacks available such as wings, hot dogs and sliders. Service was fine and during a peak rush too. I’d definitely suggest coming by and convenient after a walk through the park.

Very nice spot. Stopped in on a busy early spring night, weather was getting warm and this place was beyond swamped. The crowd seemed to be later 20’s into later 30’s. Beer selection was great! A chalkboard with "Here" and "There".... Lots of locals, and some amazing beers on tap. Service was fast, even given the busy crowd. The prices were normal for Manhattan. Great beer, good crowd, nice bar, stop in!

Nice little bar in Hell's Kitchen area. Small and very loud, but a good tap selection. Food is limited, like an appetizer menu, but was tasty. Worthy stop for beer but not a dinner stop.

Valhalla is a great place to hang out. I can understand that it’s a bit crowded at peak times, but I’ve had some really nice late nights here. Whenever I visit NY, somehow Valhalla always happens. Last time we tried to go to a show a few blocks away, but the line was really long so a "**** it, let’s go to Valhalla", was in order. We had yet another great night. They’re not quite as obsessed with or passionate about beer as some of the other more highly rated beer bars on this site, but both beer novices and vets can have a quality time here.

Fuck this place, I’ve blown enough money there to put the owners’ kids through college and they banned me.
