72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 AndyW68 (16) Louisville, Kentucky | March 27, 2013 Great beer place for a grocery store. I pur N/A for food because even though they are a good food source, you generally would not be eating there. Selection and price were very good for a grocery store. Actually better than many liquor stores that don’t focus on beer. Staff is hit or miss, but all seemed friendly. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 b3shine (179) Cincinnati, Ohio | January 6, 2013 Stopped in while in town with my wife. They have a good bottle selection with a growler station to boot. The grocery section was solid too, as was the value. Worth a stop if you’re in the area; I’d just avoid IPAs, as I’m not sure how quickly their stock turns over. | 62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 12/20 ContemplateBeer (80) Louisville, Kentucky | November 25, 2012 Well, it’s a Valu Market Store. but this store in particular has a pretty good layout and such. Did not need service. Selection is quite surprising, pretty comparable to Old Town, and (almost) everything they have is refrigerated. Trappist (Orval, Westmalle, Rochefort) to be had here, as well as other good Belgian, Canadian (Unibroue) and American (Bells, Dogfish Head) can be found at this location. Plenty of good prices on food, good variety, but I didn’t buy any. Great prices on beer. Large bottles of Avery and Arcadia were under 3 bucks a piece, and their other prices were comparable around town. A good little beer store within a grocer.***Update*** 11/25/12- This place has had a problem with keeping beer too long recently (six packs of IPA 6+ months old, for instance); still a great selection, but be cautious around time-sensitive beers here. | 62 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 2/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 kaips1 (9) Kentucky | November 19, 2012 this is a grocery store with a small walk in cooler and a selection of i think 10 taps. the selection is nice with everything from boon and st. louis gueuze to local favorites like upland and west 6th. Last trip there my friends and i found a couple bottles of GI Madame Rose that hadnt made its way to Lexington yet. Food selection is that of a grocery store, i noticed anything special. Overall its worth a stop in because you might be surprised with what you find. | 66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | November 18, 2012 Large grocery still, half a dozen or so taps for growlers fills. Bottle selection is very small, bit there was a large cooler. Of course it wad locked, because to shop for beer at noon on a Sunday violates some religious principle that I have yet to discover or understand. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 savnac (224) Anchorage, Alaska | November 7, 2012 Nice grocery store with a decent beer selection. Walk-in cooler with lots of bottles and 6 packs, ect. Had a few things not seen elsewhere in Kentucky and the prices were good. Worth checking out. Grocery store looked nice too. | 62 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 weihenweizen (93) Charleston Area, West Virginia | July 31, 2012 This is a grocery, nobody around to ask questions about their selection at the time. Most of the beer is in the back, in their beer cave. There are a few end caps near the beer cave that have some american cases and six-packs. There are some good Belgian singles, a few Germans, some American bombers, but the singles of american brew was lacking. Even in the middle of the summer the beer cave was freezing. I saw a bottle of Abbaye des Rocs Blanche des Honnelles which had a best by date of March 2011 (only 16 months too late). I picked up a couple bottles, but expected a little more based on the other ratings. | 74 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 shrubber85 (164) Greenville, Indiana | April 25, 2012 Grocery store with a nice walk-in cooler and growler fill. Extremely nice selection of beer for a regular grocery store. | 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 neverfearbeer (12) Kentucky | January 14, 2012 This is the place I go when I wanna take a few great beers home instead of going to a bar. There is a huge selection, many things I did not expect and they also fill growlers with a selection of around 8 drafts on tap. They even had my guilty pleasure Dogfish head world wide stout! The guy who works around the beer (kevin?) was super helpful and explained a lot to me... | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 17/20 Chris1216 (5) | October 18, 2011 good place to diiferent selections, very good prices |
