This place has an excellent draft list. One of the best Iíve seen in Charlotte actually. We went on a Tuesday, it was pretty empty, but we had a really good time. The bartender was super friendly, and she seemed to know her beer too. The pretzel was great, and the rest of the food was good too. Much too cold to enjoy the outdoor parts sadly, but it looked quite fun out there. I would revisit for sure.

Large place with tons of indoor and outdoor games - ping pong, large size chess, even beach volleyball. Tap list heavily emphasizes local stuff, with some stuff also from the rest of the east coast. Food is tasty, especially the pretzels. Nice place.

This is a bustling bar which boasts the largest patio in Charlotte. Itís got a lot of standing room inside and long benches outside. There are oversized versions of Jenga, Connect 4 and chess for entertainment. VBGB is designed to be a high volume, party-type bar. Beer is higher priced than the bars around Uptown Charlotte, but pretty standard for Uptown itself. The selection is all import or craft on tap, which is weird given the atmosphere. However, all beer is served near freezing temperature and into styrofoam or plastic cups. There is a kitchen with a window to place orders featuring ballpark-type grub. I had a hot dog and nachos and edamame, all of which tasted great and certainly higher quality than your average arena food. It seems VBGB gets a lot of overflow from the crowds attending next door Fillmoor. Itís a happening spot to get some nightlife action, but not the best place in Charlotte to fully properly enjoy a craft beer.

Converted garage. Large and open with an industrial feel and
German-style picnic table seating. Also a bar with an ice rail which I see fairly infrequently. Unfortunately it was so loud it was hard to carry on a conversation. Decent selection, average prices, service seemed fine. Didnít try the food.
