92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 20/20 gd4evr (31) Mar Vista, California | May 1, 2011 Ahh Verdugo Bar with your awesome tap list, your killer patio and your gorgeous bartenders. How I love thee!
Now if those bar beauties just knew a thing or two about beer, I would never leave.
Big plus for the food trucks. Lets me stay longer and leave happier.
Verdugo Bar is highly recommended to anyone and everyone who likes beer. | 42 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 2/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 1/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 10/20 CantillonKing (11) , California | March 18, 2011 This place blows, too many douchebags, emos and hipsters | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 Jjbigtime (14) California | March 13, 2011 Coolest vibe of the LA bars I visited this weekend. Great outdoor patio with picnic tables. Reminded me a bit of Zietgeist but way nicer. The interior decor is slick but not too slick.
limited number of taps but they get the most out of them with great and interesting choices.
| 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 djenkin (17) | September 13, 2010 Great beer. Nice looking place. Get there before they turn up the volume and turn it into a night club - happens nightly.
A must go in LA. No food but they have food trucks often. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 LtDan (65) Los Angeles County, California | January 29, 2010 What a bad ass beer bar. Rolling up to it for the first time, you think it’s going to be an old person’s dive bar. Once you enter, it’s this darkly lit chilled out spot with a to die for tap selection. Because it was a Thursday night, when I went to the bar to order a beer, it took more minutes to complete the order. Very nice folks running the bar. A nice dude, a nice lady (easy on the eyes) and one of the owners, Brandon was cool as hell too. The prices were spot on. I’d recommend this place highly to anyone in the area and surrounding areas. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 beersearcher (26) Glendale, California | October 22, 2009 Dark and very dive bar noir. Service is usually very speedy. Small but well curated list. For the list, the prices are good. Add in the patio and the occasional food and it is a winner. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 ajm (191) Los Angeles, California | September 21, 2009 My new favorite bar in LA. Neighborhood is great, parking is great, ambiance is like a Spanish cave with class, the ladies behind the bar are very friendly, the tap list does work, and sometimes a dude cooks bacon-wrapped dogs out front. Boom. | 84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 JoeTheYounger (44) Claremont, California | July 29, 2009 Finally got to go to Verdugo. I have been wanting to go here for a while now just never had the chance to do so. This place was totally different than I expected. It is kinda in a shady looking neighborhood. You walk in and the music is cranked really loud like you would expect at a night club. There were quite a few people there. It was so weird to see a place like this with such a great beer selection. I will definitely go back though for some more fun and good beers. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 ChazMania (13) Pasadena, California | June 24, 2009 I have been here a few times, once alone and two times with a group of friends. THe place is a nice beer bar and has always had great beers on draft. Ryan, who I think might be a co-owner was very friendly and helpful. The couple ladies pouring beers were absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Inside, the music is way too loud to have any reasonable conversation, then there is a little seating area, and then the outdoor patio. The outdoor area is nice, although they could use a few more tables as there is alot of standing room. I have had FANTASTIC beers here, Pliny the Elder, Ballast Point stuff, DogFish Head, Avery Maharaja, Port Brewing 3rd Anninversary and probably others. Certainly will be back here. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 SamGamgee (182) down the whirlpool, California | May 26, 2009 It’s hard to believe that I’m the first rating for this place, as it’s a pretty nice little beer bar. I guess LA is just that spread out... Really dark and loungy interior with lots of leather and dark woodwork in the booths and bar. Looks like they had 20+ taps of all good craft stuff, plus a cooler filler with carefully picked bottles, of which Descutes Mirror Mirror, Ballast Point Tongue Buckler, and Russian River Consecration jumped out at me. The service was warm and friendly, and we had an interesting conversation with one of the owners about a crazy cat wandering around the back patio. They were actually having a special Ballast Point night, with a couple of the brewers hanging out talking to people, and several special kegs on tap in addition to all the BP regulars. It sounded like they are trying to make events like this a regular thing. I like what these guys are doing, and If I lived closer I would probably stop in pretty regularly. |
