Modern, wood-floored pub with an interesting range of beers on casks, taps and bottles. Rather busy early on a Wednesday eve. Friendly atmosphere with hard-working, but smiling, barmaids that offered me tasters of their cask ales. Seemed to be a popular place to eat with its deli bar of fresh salads and cheese. Central location. Recommended place for eating and drinking (visited 11.07.2012).

We (me dad & Barry) Visited here on Saturday 17th March 2012. This is an impressive little bar/small restaurant, there is a deli counter side to this and I suppose that is where the food side is dealt with and a drinking area, though I would guess that it wouldn’t be the end of the world if you went to the wrong bit. Beer was excellent there were 3 handpumps as I recall and a further 3 keg fonts, choice was pretty good with the Raw Hop Pole the best that I had. Just along the road from the Victoria and Commercial Hotel and close to Mr Foleys as well. Nice place, great to pitch up here on a Sunday and browse the broadsheets which is what we did.
