Beautiful location by the pedestrian street leading down to the Alte Brücke, the view will be best enjoyed at the pub’s outdoor seating. Four of their own beers were available at our visit, including Vetters 33 and their seasonal Heidelberger Frisch. It’s a rather large, airy pub with their brewing plant located next to the bar. Service by the table, fast and polite. Clean toilets (visited 25.07.2014).

Visited in mid July on a baking hot day. A nice walk down the river from Alstadt station in the old town.
Nice old building with seats on the cobbled street. 3 beers on plus Vetter 33.
Good service, beer was good quality and service efficient and friendly. A good stop,

A must visit if in Heidelberg. 3 regular brews and if lucky often a seasonal on tap.

I will go to this place any time I’m in the area for work, and that has happened about six times now. I don’t think there are many options for "craft beer" within this region, so if you’re anywhere near this place, please stop by it. Great traditional German food and beer, with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. It is also in such a great location, at the foot of the main bridge in Heidelberg with great views.

Definitely a place to visit while you are in Heidelberg. It is really well placed on the way from the Old Bridge to the Markt square.
The food is great and the beer is a must. The service is quick and very friendly.
Every time I go to Heidelberg I have to go there.

The place is located conveniently near the old town centre. Despite being pretty crowded, it wasn’t really cosy like a busy place can be. Service was horrible at first. The waitress ignored us two times, the 3rd time had indicated that she would come, but instead started clearing the tables, washing them, going in and out of the kitchen 2 more times and still not taking our orders. Friendly was not in her vocabulary. Luckily she was replaced after half an hour by another very friendly younger waitress who totally made up for her predecessor. The selection is pretty small, 4 beers only, despite the fact that they seem to produce more styles, and not only seasonals. Food was very mediocre. We had a sausage / bread platter, but despite being a big sausage fan, I didn’t like it. Maybe the hot food is better? Overall: it’s worth to stop by if you are in the area, just to get a few ticks, but I’d recommend eating at Kulturbrauerei instead.

I love this place near the Bridge. They have their own beer and an interesting selection.
They offer also food and it is a nice place to have a bratwurst plate + beer dinner :)

I thought this place was very average. The Vetters 33 is def worth trying, but other beers were very lackluster. Service was very prompt and prices good. Def a student hang out, however, compared to Kulturbrau this place is not worth going to.

Nice little traditional-looking brewpub in the heart of old town Heidelberg. Ambiance is typical from what you’d get from a German brauhaus with a slight microbrewing flair. Service and experience were average. The real draw of this place is the renowned Vetters 33, which was fabulous. Other than that, the brauhaus offers several other very good regular and season German classics. This is definitely one of the best stops in the northern part of Baden-Württemberg and a must visit for German beer lovers.

Great place down a small alley towards the bridge. Nice atmosphere - tables to accommodate even larger groups. Nice beers and great food - the huge sausage plate is a site to behold. Great place.
