Loong bar with extra tables, restaurant next door. Service was OK, they were friendly but looked a little stressed on a Sunday afternoon. Food was outstanding. Beer selection was very good, with lots of local stuff plus an occasional rarity. Good prices. Worth going out of your way for.

Fancy interior - dark wood paneling, comfy leather bar stools, polished metal throughout the bar... a lot of rich WASPy folks hanging around drinking martinis and pinot, but the beer selection is actually better than decent. Drafts of Houblin Chouffe and Bear Republic Red Rocket, among others. About 15-20 drafts along with a nice bottle selection (Scherlenkerla Urbock, Olfabrikken Abbey, Mikkeller Black Hole). Bottle prices are spendy, of course. Food is actually really good, and surprisingly the prices arenít astronomical. The crowd is a bit too much country club for me, but I liked the food and the beer selection is solid.

Located in a standalone building in a prefab block I wasnít expecting much but this place is pretty awesome. Lots of brass and wood on the inside. They have 24 taps plus over 150 bottles a few of them pretty hard to get. They have a nice range of local and national crafts plus a few Brewdogs, Mikellers, and Nogne as well. They also have weekly beer nights on Mondays. The food is fantastic. The portions arenít large but theyíre incredibly flavorful. The prices arenít cheap but itís a really cool experience.

A nice gastropub conveniently located in Columbia. From the outside, it looks like it could be another strip mall parcel, but once inside, you realize you are somewhere different. The owners are serious about their food and beverages. This is a family-owned establishment, with all four contributing daily. I highly recommend the duck fat fries. The beer selection is thoughtful and fresh. There are beer dinners every month with wine dinners thrown in occasionally.

A must stop while in the Columbia area. The owners have introduced themselves on a few occasions and they are very helpful and accomodating. The beer selections are great and the food is top flight yto. Add a great atmosphere and you have a winning combination.

Shopping mall exterior gives way to a cozy bar and separate dining area. Sat at the bar with almost everyone else in the place at happy hour and beyond, so service was good at first but slowed a bit when they got deluged in the bar. Draft beer selection is not huge, but very well selected and they have a fairly extensive bottle list as well. Food was excellent and one of the few who should be allowed to call themselves a Gastro Pub. Beers are high quality but a bit overpriced. However, the food pricing is actually a pretty good deal for the quality presented.

Nice gastropub in Columbia. Nothing special from the outside, but the interior is spacious and well designed. Thoughtful beer selection, but a bit on the safe side. Food is the standout here and everything Iíve had was delicious. Good apps also make this place a good choice for a happy hour gathering. Great staff and management with occasional beer dinner events.

Stopped in for the first time for a beer. Selection was very good and I appreciated how they served 12 or 20 oz for many of the beers. I didnít have the food but will say that it looked good. Service was fine and geared towards a nice restaurant experience. I was surprised about how unfriendly the place felt to have a beer -- hostesses were stiff and unwelcoming and the decor seemed geared more towards high end dining. In whole it works because of the selection, but not a place for simply enjoying good beer.

This place is pretty awesome. I wish that there was something like this nearer to home. We made reservations for 5:15 via OpenTable. I received a very pleasant confirmation call the morning of our reservation. Due to our own error we ended up being about 5 minutes late for our reservation, but thankfully our table was still ready and we were promptly seated. The first thing that I noticed is that this place is hopping and it was still quite early for the Saturday night dinner crowds.
Having two kids in tow, one 2 and one 6, I was worried that this place would not be good for them (this according to the yelp profile), boy was I wrong. The kids menu is great, both in its selection and its prices. The service was very accommodating to kids. As those with kids probably know, go early. Bringing kids to a 7pm Sat night dinner is not the wisest idea.
On to the food. Ordered a bucket of duck fat fries to start. Yum yum. The heady aroma of rendered duck fat hits immediately with a good backing of rosemary and truffled salt. My wife ordered the amazing "mushroom and swiss" kobe burger. This was the star of the night for me. A truly wonderful burger. From the perfect brioche to the perfectly charred on the outside, red and meaty on the inside patty, and the gruyere acting as the swiss. No ketchup needed here! I ordered the America Dip which was quite good, though not as good as the burger. As for libations, the draft list is pretty damn awesome and the prices are quite decent. All the beer was served in nice glassware (even a snifter for an Imperial Stout).
Service is top notch all around. Attentive without being overbearing. Prices are extremely fair for what seems to be quality ingredients that are prepared with care and not just thrown onto a plate shoved out of the kitchen door. This is all the more amazing given how busy the place was.
Overall I highly recommend Victoria Gastro Pub. I think that the owners are really onto something and would love to see a restaurant like this in the Northern Virginia suburbs, it would certainly succeed and we really need it.
