64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 Radek Kliber (165) Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Poland | July 24, 2012 Pub located south of Bloor st near Bathurst intersection in old Victorian house. Multileveled for events Service is hit and miss. They do have solid beer list. Good value. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 15/20 PatIrish (13) Toronto, Ontario | December 21, 2011 I always have time for a pint at Victory. Unfortunately, I don’t always have time for the poser’s and hipsters. | 64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 JoeMcPhee (465) Toronto, ON, Ontario | September 10, 2011 Finally visited this little spot with my sister on a recent warm afternoon. Long narrow room downstairs with a smaller upstairs area that doesn’t seem to get used all the often. Inside is kind of dumpy. The patio is the busiest part of the establishment (at least on this sunny day, it was). Solid selection of Ontario micros at a fairly reasonable price. You’ll find similar brews on tap here as elsewhere around the city, but there’s not a whole lot of stuff in this immediate area, so it’s worth checking out if you find yourself in the neighborhood. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 kevinsenn (40) Waterloo, Ontario | March 25, 2011 They always have a good selection of beers, and it’s the only place I’ve come across in Ontario that serves "real cask ale". Food is good too. | 44 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 1/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 8/20 cratez (151) Toronto, Ontario | July 12, 2010| Updated October 13, 2012 Holy pretentious Batman! Came here after a show in December ’09 and was very disappointed. First of all, there’s nowhere to sit. Took a while to get some service, and when we did we got some lumber jack-looking goofball with a big chip on his shoulder. Upon asking, "what do you have on cask?" the server responded, "pfft...I don’t know," then proceeded to cater to his hipster friends in the corner. Eventually I managed to get a pint of Durham Red Dragon, which was delicious. Didn’t try any of the food because the kitchen was closed when we wanted to eat. The seats in our booth were ripped out of place and would lift each time you got up or moved forward. Basically this bar is a dump packed full of snobby U of T students. Good traits? Hmm...there’s a solid beer selection (Duggan #9, Hop Addict, King Pils) and drinks are cheap. That’s about it. I would say avoid Victory unless you’re one of the insider locals who likes to sneer at ’intruders.’ A parochial enclave...go to Volo instead! | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 16/20 RC8 (18) Toronto, Ontario | June 8, 2010| Updated October 13, 2012 Wondeful beer served by wonderful people at an even more wonderful price. I came here with my girlfriend, we both had a pint each, ate, etc. The bill was $20 and the atmosphere was terrific. Really a great place. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 hopwartz (32) Toronto, Ontario | June 5, 2010| Updated October 13, 2012 The Victory is great when your with a group of friends that just really want to get hammered and have a good night. The draft list is usually the same, with the exception of a few rotating taps. They mostly serve Durham beers on cask which is always a plus. Service has been friendly most of the times, and the food is mediocre pubgrub. Not to mention pints are cheap!
| 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 17/20 AGAquino (50) San Juan, Puerto Rico | November 1, 2009| Updated October 13, 2012 The Victory is probably my 2nd favourite beer bar in Toronto. It’s not shinny and sofisticated, nor would I want it to be. It is a casual quaint rustic bar with great food, great beer, knowledgeable and friendly wait staff.
As an architect and beer aficionado, I would not change a thing. | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 14/20 PaulHegedus (26) British Columbia | February 1, 2009| Updated October 13, 2012 This is a great, cozy, unassuming place in the Annex. There are usually interesting local draughts and sometimes casks available, and the food was really pretty good. Nothing wrong with going here in the winter, but really this place is wonderful in the summer when you can take advantage of their awesome patio. It’s nice to have a good beer location in Toronto that isn’t so expensive. There’s nothing exciting to choose beyond the local beers though. Cask festivals here are worth checking out. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 17/20 garthicus (53) Dublin, Ireland | January 17, 2009| Updated October 13, 2012 Look - if you’re looking for a fancy place to take a first date, then you’re not gonna like Victory. It’s a cheap and cheerful place with awesome local beers and awesome food. The prices can’t be argued with and they always have something on cask. It’s potentially my favorite place in Toronto. Quite a laid back joint which embraces the craft beer drinkers without emptying your bank account! *hint hint beer bistro!* I love going here. |
