58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 Maverick34 (42) New York | December 15, 2009 Collegey with tons of TV’s. Goose Island is probably the most exotic draft you’ll find. Bottle selection is actually pretty decent for the scene. Food is adequate at best. Can get packed on football saturday/sundays. | 50 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 BREWMUSKCLES (102) New Jersey | June 16, 2012 ordinary beers with a few that even i can enjoy. youthful atmosphere and pretty waitresses sometimes in a hurry but always nice. bar atmosphere and decent pricing i liked these places when i was a kid and i still do. | 14 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 1/15 FOOD 3/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 2/20 puzzl (136) New York, New York | May 9, 2011 Why is this place even in the database? This place has a worse selection than even the shittiest Irish pubs. There was a single Goose Island tap... and it was out. 100% shit macro otherwise. The bar is also populated completely by frat boys. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 DeadGirl (76) San Diego, California | November 21, 2009 I find myself returning again and again for beer pong tournaments, football games on the large projector screens, and nights out with friends. Saturday nights get pretty crowded due to it’s East Village location, but don’t come looking for beer enthusiasts, for I’m sure they’re running out of Bud Light fast on those nights. Decent tap and kinda rare bottle selection. It’s loud, and they play good music. Overall: A good hangout with friends who aren’t into the dimly lit, beer scene. I leave usually after drinking a few beers I haven’t tried before. Return: Yes. #29 on 21112009, DG. | 50 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 8/20 CUJO (19) Brooklyn, New York | October 31, 2009 Primarily a sportsbar with an above average selection for this type of place. Watched some games before hitting Giants Stadium with Pwn3d... loud and filled with college students, however service was great. If this bar was in another city it would be considered a gem, however being in NYC makes it a hard market to compete with... would need to strengthen the selection. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 11/20 Pwn3d (62) Manhattan, New York | October 31, 2009 Went to the East Village location w/ CUJO. Decent craft + macro draft and bottle menu.. approx 35 beers to choice from, about 5 sessionals, in all a lot were out of stock. I got a Goose Island and Flying Dog. Food was ok, got the sampler. Fun place, loud, young, sports oriented... would go again. | 32 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 6/20 JoeMcPhee (466) Toronto, ON, Ontario | June 7, 2009 Loud sportsbar with about 15 taps... half of them are macro, half are okay. Loads of TVs and NYU students (East Village location). i can’t say I’m a fan of this place and it probably shouldn’t even be listed here. | 38 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 6/20 Slipstream (82) | March 30, 2009 There are two branches of this NYC beer hall. One is in Morningside Heights and the other is in the East Village. It is more of a mainstream sports bar than a beer drinker’s holy grail, but it can be a fun place to hang out and watch a ball game. There are a couple of unusual bottles available, and a few micros on tap. One can purchase a 64 oz pitcher for the low price of $15, but like so many American kegged brews, the beer tastes a little watery. |
