I go here a couple times a week with friends. We are interested in just sitting down having a drink without super loud music blasting in out ears. The crowd in this bar is also awesome. If you love beer, you will love this bar, they have a great German Selection and a bunch of new craft tappers and other local favorites. The pricing for the beer is great and everything they donít have on tap theyíve got in a bottle. The cocktails here are a little overpriced but this is more of a beer bar. Bartenders are always polite. FREE POPCORN

This place is a dank hole that has a pretty shoddy beer selection. The only people who go here are aging boomers who dont know that there are better places out there now

German beers are prominent here although Micros have became more prevalent in the last couple years. Can get crowded on the weekend due to its close proximaty to UW-Milwaukee.

Von Trier is a nice east side / North Ave bar, though, Iíve never been there when its busy. Not much of a selection, but do have decent German beers. Fun place to hit for a beer if you are in the area.

I think they used to have a wider beer selection but still isnít bad...located on the always interesting and enjoyable East Side of Milwaukee...great "Old Time" feel in the bar....service has never been great but not terrible either. Fun place to stop for a decent beer if you are in the area.

I felt the place to be a bit crowded when I was there (standing room only). They had some nice things on tap, delirium tremens, lindemans lambic, some other excellent beers (I canít recall, but they were good). Beers can be a BIT on the expensive side there topping $7. They had a German band playing some polka on our side of the bar. Service was to be desired, a bit on the slow side, but then again it was packed...

Fun little German bar. Having 2 separate rooms helps to keep down the noise, which is nice, and it is often less crowded than many of this areaís bars. The diversity of the beer isnít quite as good as Iíd like. Maybe 15 beers on tap, about 4 locals, several German beers, and a few other common beers. Around double that bottled, but not too much unusual here, as they generally have the same imports you can find most places. If youíre in the neighborhood, its worth a stop for the atmosphere, and to see what German beers are on, but then head across the street to Hooliganís for what I felt was a more enticing beer selection.
