Nice place, with a decent tap selection and good bottles. Cover is a bit high, but food is good with some decent veggie selections. I liked the smoked eggs particularly. Nice place to drink.

Great ambiance of dark wood and friendly staff who know beer are huge pluses. Tasters are also cool. The problem for me is they’re stuck in the past when they were one of the few games in town. Prices are high for Kyoto plus if you don’t order the great(I hear) though pricey food you’re hit with a punitive table charge in the 800-1000 yen range. Sticker shock to put it mildly. If they dropped the table charge or had it at a more reasonable 300 yen I’d probably drop by more. Right now for me it isn’t worth it as it is not the kind of place that is so much fun if you’re on your own.

Good for a quick bite and drink. I wouldn’t stay too long as the bill very quickly adds up here. Service was also quite poor for us and our neighboring tables. Not like bad bad - it was friendly, just seemed swamped. But it was a Friday night, they should have more than 1 dedicated server. Food was pretty good though.

Not the most extensive beer listing but a fun place regardless. Minoh on hadpump and a few taps here. Awesome sake list. The small plates of food they bring to the table was very tasty, smoked and grilled fish, chicken, vegies etc. Sweet place.

They charge you to sit which is a little unfair but the food is great and they offer Japanese craft beers. Some special some not.

Good little Japanese-style Izakaya, but with a lot of beer. Usually 5 draught beers include 3 guest Japanese micros, Kirin Heartland, and a German style import. Good selection of bottled beers. Probably 30-40 Japanese Micros and imports (mostly Belgian and American). I also had Gose there once. Happy hour offers cheap Heartland, but is limited timewise. Cheap pints on mondays lately. Japanese drinking-food is high quality, lots of different grilled and smoked meats, fish, and veggies. Pricey, but has a nice Japanese atmosphere, and the only Izakaya I know with beer like this.
