96 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 LionsMaine (6) North Carolina | March 28, 2013 Rustic exterior, no frills, just peanuts, corn hole and beer...excellent beer. Iron Rail IPA is a juicy malt forward beer super consistent. 3rd rail this year is liquid hoppy gold, take your time here though its a monster. Vladim Bora is the Raz. Imp Stout, that usually rings in the holidays and lasts through Feb. Over all the best beer brewed in Asheville currently in regards to consistency, balance and flavor. would like to see some barrel aged beers from these guys and some cask in the future to really send them into the halls of greatness. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 Kinz (55) Glen Allen, Virginia | February 2, 2013 Narrowest brewery I’ve ever seen - I now understand why it is called Wedge. Cool little artist galleries in the building above the brewery. Nice tap list, and the beers were all very, very good. Place very, very quickly filled up at 5 PM, with loads of people hanging outside even in the winter. Peanuts available for nibbling. Friendly staff. Cornhole outside, they have really tried to make this a good place to hang out. And succeeded. My wife and I both really liked this one. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 jbruner (56) Tallahassee, Florida | January 30, 2013 Very art hipster vibe to this establishment; on the ground floor of an art collective. One small bar for seating inside, plenty of tables and chairs outside. Service was fair, nice and knowledgeable; I think they were training someone new the day I showed up. Selection is just their beer, but all that I tried were superb. No food there, but food trucks show up in mass on multiple occasions. Very reasonable pricing considering the the quality of beer you are drinking. The best micro brewery in town in my opinion. Beers are top notch, just wish I could take home more than just the IPA. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 Cliff (50) Avon Lake, Ohio | November 28, 2012 Small place located in the lower level of an art studio. Can be a bit difficult to find and I wandered around a little bit before I found it. Very small interior but a large exterior that would be awesome in the warmer months. Selection or 6 or 7 beers on tap. Prices were good, ~$4 a pint. I had 2 beers and both were very good. No food available from what I saw but I did see a list of food trucks that regularly stop by. Staff was friendly and I hope to be back soon. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 MlhopeTC (18) Orlando, Florida | October 24, 2012 Such a cool brewery. Located on the train tracks south of downtown Asheville. Sounds like they have 7 to 10 of their beers on tap at all time, but they only growler one :( Every night they have a food truck outside, and I think that is always a great option for breweries without their own food. A bunch of "scene" girls working there who knew the beer but also weren’t too amped to talk while working. Polite enough though. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 brentfeesh (80) Gadsden, Alabama | September 12, 2012 I like this place. Neat old school industrial warehouse environment right next to active rail lines. Have a beer while you watch trains roll by. Tons of hippies running around with their dogs and frisbies. Plenty of room to wonder around with your beer and they frequently have food carts on site. Fish Taco’s last time...Yum. Inside is nothing special but you can get many of their tasty brews. Relatively nice and knowledgeable people working there. I like stopping by every time I’m in Asheville. | 34 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 7/20 maxwelldeux (59) Raleigh, North Carolina | September 1, 2012 I tried, but I just couldn’t get into this one. There’s no food. No waiter service. No air conditioning and it’s ungodly hot. They do allow dogs, which is nice, but enough to overcome the shortcomings. Maybe I was unlucky, but they only had four beers on tap when I got there. It was’t worth the trip, really, other than to find new brews to rate. | 70 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | July 15, 2012 Funky place in funky, artsy surroundings. Metal sculptures all over the place. Lots of outdoor seating, pretty small indoor area. Cornhole court food truck with Korean and Mexican staff called El Kimchi Only three beers on tap, but those were excellent. Definitely a good place to hang out when the weather allows it. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 b3shine (178) Cincinnati, Ohio | July 9, 2012 A very good brewery in Asheville that cranks out good fresh IPA along with a few others. Only 4 beers on tap when we were there mid-June, but the three that we tried were solid. Nice outdoor atmosphere too. I just wish they had a better selection (and maybe some food). | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 gvmdw7 (37) California | March 22, 2012 This is the first brewery I hit up in Asheville. It had an eclectic mix of people, much like the town. The beers were solid and the atmosphere was great. I didn’t sample the food truck offerings. Well worth the 4 hour drive to get here. |
