74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 coldbrewky (67) Hippetown East, New York | December 25, 2011 Stopped in yesterday to pick out a mixed sixer since my Dad ended up with my Christmas present of slippers since they did not fit me. He got me a mixed sixer which was a pleasure to get inside the Pennsylvania border. While Wegman’s is predominantly a food store( and a damn big one at that), I found the beer selection in 6 12 and singles quite impressive. Duck Rabbit, Bells, lotsa Belgians etc. EZ on, EZ off from the highway. Service isnt great but what do you want from a Food Lion/ PriceChopper Weis like store? | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 beerbill (81) Laurel, New York | August 30, 2010 I stopped in with my wife and daughter after a day of shopping at the Lehigh Valley Mall. The space is well lit but could use a little better organization. Locals such as Troegs, Victory, Weyerbacher and Allentown Brew Works were all well represented. I was looking for beers from Legacy in Reading, PA, but there was no one there to ask. Other brewers like Bells, Sweetwater and Founders were hit-or-miss. For example, I saw two bottles of Bells Oberon and that was it for Bells, but there were several different six-packs from Sweetwater. Worth stopping by if you are in the area (we were heading up Rt 33) but not worth a special trip. | 64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 IPFreely (143) Sanborn, New York | July 31, 2010 I happened to be going to this particular Wegmans with a friend to pick up some stuff for a party he was having. Excellent beer selection for a grocery store, even for Wegmans’ higher standards. Very typical scene for their stores, good food, great produce, large cafeteria area with lots of good eats. Service is somewhat nonexistent due to the type of place it is. Lots of nice stuff though, Founders, Bells, local stuff like Bethlehem Brew Works, etc. You don’t have to buy cases, which I believe is a small miracle for these parts. Recommended. | 70 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Listigovers (12) Toronto, Ontario | June 26, 2010 Wegman’s is a grocery store that has managed to fight its way through PA’s crazy liquor laws and sell beer. They have a very nice selection. You can always find something good here, 750ml’s of St. Bernardus and Chimay offerings, German greats like Ayinger and Paulaner in 6 packs, lots of 6 packs of Victory, Troegs, Bells and Founders are always nice as well. Not a beer store, so service is just if the person stocking the area happens to know anything about beer or not... Wegmans is a very nice store, and they have a restaurant that is a sort of upscale cafeteria which makes very cheap and nice sandwiches. |
