Well’s is a great place don’t get me wrong but why when i call and ask if they sell a certain beer they tell me they don’t have it and proceed to say they carry every beer available in the state of Maryland, Clearly if you don’t have a certain beer and can’t get it then you don’t have every beer available in this state! I did a year ago or so purchase Sink the Bismark at Wells and it was so strong!

A quick stop in here after a wonderful lunch at Grand Cru. The staff at GC spoke well of this place, and it’s certainly worth a stop. Nothing extraordinary here that you won’t find at State Line, but there’s an overall good selection, and the staff was friendly. I’m not sure I would go out of my way to stop here, but if you’re already close, it’s probably worth 15 minutes.

If you are in the North Baltimore/Baltimore County region, your two best options are Well’s and Beltway. Personally, I prefer Well’s because its got much more of a local liquor store feel while maintaining a great selection. Price’s aren’t terrific, but if you want something specific, there is a very good chance they have it.

Ok - I’m reading the reviews and I don’t know where you people buy your beer, but frankly, it doesn’t get much better than Wells for selection and service. You have to ask for the "Beer Guy," who will cantankerously walk you to several selections of whatever you describe in the way of taste. He’s very knowledgeable and the staff overall is great. BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR A SPECIALIST.

Slightly more of a selection than Beltway. Prices go back and forth with Beltway depending on item. Doesn’t have any of the singles selection that Beltway does. Nice place to stop into.

Not far from Towson, and just north of downtown Baltimore sits this great liquor store. Well lit and large, the store welcomes its visitors. Wide variety of wines and spirits, but that’s not why we’re here... on to the beer. At least 5 rows dedicated to craft beer, not including the cooler section. Vast array of Belgian/Belgian styles; lambics are well represented here with the likes of Cantillon and Boon. Also a rather large German and British selection; many German dopplebocks for me to try in the future! Prices aren’t bad, but I’m coming from PA, so... Helpful staff, nice location, great variety. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Baltimore.

Wells has a nice selection of beers ranging from macro to Trappist. The prices are pretty fair (somewhat more expensive than, say... Finger Lakes Beverages in Ithaca NY). The only knock is that a good number of the rarer stuff has been sitting there so long that it collects dust. Not really a bad thing if you are drinking craft brew with a ton of hops, but still slightly disconcerting.

Pretty nice selection and good prices. They have a few harder to find beers as well as all of the usual suspects from the area. The Belgian section in particular was very nice. Heavy dust on some of the bottles. I was asked if I needed help several times but the one time that I presented a question I was given a seemingly prefabricated response. I would visit again but probably won’t make a dedicated trip out of it.

Great liquor store. Wish it was just a bit closer. The only complaint I had at all was that when I went to a different beer store later that day, I found many of the same beers for about 1 to 2 dollars less per bottle. The prices seemed just a bit high, but the selection was magnificent.
