Not much to be said that hasnít already. Sketchy neighbourhood. When we walked in, I thought that I had made a terrible mistake- all heads turned and gave us the one over. After grabbing a couple of stools, I felt right at home- the service was warm. They were decorating for Xmas nad while hanging something from a light fixture, the fixture came down and smashed and everyone got a hearty laugh.
Definitely worth a visit -- really nice local atmosphere, plus great beers. I got to try the Crouch Vale Brewers Extra Gold here when with duff and Kook -- the barkeep (owner?) was nice enough to get it for us even though it hadnít been put on yet. Now thatís service!

A great little pub, been here a couple times with various RBers. Bit of a locals pub, but it still has a good feel to it. I personally think the food is rubbish, but it forfills its need of providing you with fuel. Good beer selection on cask, which is well kept and rotated very regularly. I like it.
Visited with Duff, Chris_O, Sully & Kook. A really nice atmosphere (5/5), service was fast and polite (10/10), selection has many interesting cask micros but lacks many foreign beers (13/15). Overall is 17/20 because the location isnít the best (although easy to get to), and because stuff like the toilets werenít as clean as they might be. For some odd reason it wonít let me not give a rating for food (I didnít have any), so I will just give it a 6 or something.

Went here with Spiesy, SilkTork, duff, chris_o, TheDM, and HotStuff. Great place. I enjoyed myself here. It was packed but it was a Saturday night. Essentially a neighborhood pub but everyone was friendly to us. Had a sandwich here and it was damn good. Several cask beers available. Worth the time to seek it out.
Out of the way boozer in the middle of a housing com industrial estate. We caught the bus from Euston Station which dropped us off at the bottom of the road. Unprepossesing but a quiet freindly alehouse inside, warm and comfy with a good range of Doorstep sarnies. But this pub is about beer, and very good and varied it is too. I enjoyed it.
What a great place! If I would live in London, this would be my weekly place. Great - dirty - heck who cares? Great Beer, great and knowlegded staff / the cellarmaster really cares about the beer, tastes it before it will be served. Wonderful music played by nice old men and as I saw an old woman in her 80s happily tapping her feet to the music while enjoying a pint of beer, I knew: this is just right, and my heart filled with love for this place.
This place is pretty remote, and freaky to walk to at night because you're in this residential neighborhood with housing projects around and it doesn't feel all that safe. But inside it's warm and homey, like a hobbit's lair, and the beers change like you change your underwear - daily. Obscure UK micros on tap served with the utmost of care.
For me itís the only place to drink in the City of LondonÖ but I would say that. Itís this tiny little pub on the corner of nowhere and nowhere, less then a mile from the Londonís Financial district. Now if youíre working in the City, youíre typically surrounded by fools, drinking expensive larger, produced by the nationals and served in shiny surrounds. Not this place. The beer is from little independent breweries, the floors are sticky and the people are real. Thereís no pretence and everybody is there for the beer. The beer is served in top condition and youíre guaranteed of a rate every visit. The food is adequate but really itís all about the beer!!
