Not a bad little beer store carrying a wide variety of local ales. What it does it does very well - my only complaint is that what it does is limited. However, if what you want is a great West Country ale it does what it says on the tin very well with a good range if arbor, moor, wild beer, Bristol beer factory and others. There’s also a good selection of local ciders. And of course cheddar itself is well worth a visit.

Visited a couple of times during the August Bank Holiday week and despite the tourist hordes this proved to be a haven of calm. Fred, the owner, gave us a considerable amount of time and help with his extensive knowledge of beers and breweries. We managed to sup several bottles during out time there and had an excellent time chosing our beers. Thoroughly recommended.

Entered this small shop along the entrance to the cliffs of Cheddar to be greeted by a man updating his Facebook not to batter an eyelid that anyone had walked in at all. First impressions aside he turned out to be very approachable and knowledgable of the area and of the beers and ciders that stocked the shelves. Good selection of local micros, tasting notes on most advertised too or given by the owner. Good if you’re in the area, possibly painful if it’s peak season though!

Great range of beers and ciders. Emphasis on both south west beers and also promotes bottle conditioned ales. Tasting notes on the bottles help you choose what you want and the service is first class.

Surprised to find this in Cheddar. Small but well-organised shop focused on local micros (including full Moor range) but with occasional interesting guests including some from The Kernel. The personable owner was genuinely inerested in beer, and also seemed to be a decent artist judging by the painting he was doing. Worth a look if you’re in the area, but being Cheddar it’s best to avoid high season if you want to park!

Genuine beer store with no macros except for a few cans hidden in a separate fridge away from all the good stuff. Emphasis on microbreweries from the southwest of England and especially in the immediate areas so great place to try some of the beers that don’t get out much like the delicious Moor Fusion. Also can do jugs of local cider. A surprisingly good store for the area.

Good shop in the middle of the tourist drag in Cheddar. There’s a lot of local bottled brews, including Moor and Bristol Beer Factory stuff. They also have farmhouse cider for sale in bulk. Good shop.
