72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20
Overview: Westport Whiskey & Wine is located near the back of the Westport Village complex, which is mostly full of boutique stores that appeal to middle-aged women. OK, they have Comfy Cow and Wild Eggs, but not much else for anyone who hasnít hit their midlife crisis. The store itself is smallish, but uses their space well. A good 80% of the store is whiskey and wine (as youíd expect) with some beer on warm shelves on the right as you enter. There is a cooler as well, but most of the selection is warm. The setup is modern, well-lit and well organized. Service is friendly and helpful if needed, and came out from the counter to offer assistance during my most recent visit. The selection here is fairly well thought out: they arenít satisfied with carrying only things you can get at Liquor Barn, and you can find a few pleasant surprises here. Still, thereís plenty to choose from to satisfy most tastes, so itís a good spot to appeal to a variety of drinkers. This location once had a growler station, but itís been replaced with a wine by the glass system. Not entirely sure why this place has a food score... Beer prices were pretty average for the area. PROS: Clean layout and store; thoughtful selection; friendly service. CONS: Nothing glaringly bad or concerning, except for the lack of a growler station (when I asked previously, they said growler beer wasnít moving fast enough to justify the station). OVERALL: Worth a stop if in the area; Iíd definitely make this my local bottle shop if I lived nearby. However, there are so many other good places to buy beer in town that are more closely located to other points of interest (LBS, Old Town) and other locations closer to my home (Evergreen). So, unfortunately, Iím not here often. Iíd still stop at LBS, Keg, Old Town or Evergreen before coming out here, despite the highish score. Located in a shopping center, so plenty of parking nearby.

70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20
Visited early evening on a Thursday. Tucked away in a newer, nicer strip mall. Clean, newer store with the beer selection immediately on the left as you walk in. Decent selection of singles, larger Against the Grain selection than most spots, had Three Floyds beers which is on the high side for Louisville. Worth checking out if you are in the area.
70 = ★★Ĺ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.

This is a decent place to stop if you are desperate for beer but do not want to stop at Liquor Barn another ten minutes east or head to the Louisville Beer Store or Keq Liquors. The selection is not huge but did include a good range of regional and national brands. Prices seemed fair for the most part. Even so Iíd come here mainly for the bourbon selection which is typical of the Louisville market.

Located in a very nice shopping complex with higher quality restaurants and shops. The beer selection is located in a cramped area near the coolers. Some beers are refrigerated; most are not. Selection is the more common ones in the area (Three Floyds, Dogfish, BBC, etc). Finding them in the store may require some assistance. Had to ask for help to find the Dogfish. Prices are at least $1 higher than the chain liquor stores. Unless I live in the area, Iíd go to Evergreen or Liquor Barn.
