Stopped in here on Easter Sunday. Pretty sure this was the only place open in the entire state of Texas that day. Great service. Talked with on of their beer guys for about 20 minutes about what I was looking for and they had almost every thing I wanted. Got a bunch of Jester King, Saint Arnold, and Real Ale. Also got a Maui Brewing beer to knock out Hawaii, a Wasatch Polygamy Porter to take care of Utah, Sierra Blanca Roswell Alien Amber to knock out New Mexico and loads of other goodies. I canít compare with other places in Texas, but most of the prices were lower than they are locally around me. Overall, perfect. I canít wait to go back.

Difficult as fuck to get to because of the IH-35 exit. Well worth it, awesome selection. Ambience? Itís a family-owned convenience store. An Austin staple...

Really awesome store with a great beer/wine/food selection. An attached liquor store also gives you a great selection of spirits. This family owned shop has a very friendly and welcoming staff.

A beer store/beer bar/Indian restaurant that is extremely unique. They have a nice outdoor seating area and inside is a bit dark but even have a stage for music. Bartender was extremely friendly and quite knowledgeable. Tons of taps and about 4-5 house beers. Then you have the store which has a ton of bottles as well. Food was great and prices were good as well! Should this place be listed as a brewery? Bar? Beer store? I donít know, but all I know is it is an absolute must hit!

Heaven for the aspiring beer geek in me.
I came in looking for two cask beers they had on tap. Unfortunately, they had emptied them the night before. But they had plenty of other choices, including two casks from Jester King. 70 taps, including 41 local beers. And hundreds of bottles to either drink there or take home.
It was Sunday afternoon so we ended up with the manager as our bartender. Very helpful and informative, great service.
Whip In is a grocery store/bar with a small amount of indoor seating and a large patio. It is definitely an Austin place.
Close to a perfect score as far as Iím concerned, but I would have loved to have the option of 5 oz tasters. (Though they kept the 1 oz samplers coming all afternoon long, so itís hard to complain.)

Family-owned business that feels like a comfortabe neighborhood bar / restaurant / beer store but with the skills and selection to be a city-wide destination. Constanty evolving...from a Dew & Fritos convenience store, to the place with the best deal on Celis White, to the current incarnation, to an aspiring brewpub. An Austin original worth checking out.

This place rocks! You walk in and thereís ususally cool Putumaya type world music playing and some Nag Champa incense burning. Great beer and wine selection, tastings and magazines/papers. Local brews, Texas brews, Intíl brews. They let you build your own 6-pack from cool and dry. Super laid-back and knowledgable staff. Not much food, they have cheeses, candies, slim pickinsí on some groceries.

This is one of my favorite places to go to drink beer as well as buy hard to find beers. The Tex-Indian food is an added bonus. The staff is very knowledgable and very helpful. The beer selection on tap is amazing (they are great supporter of local breweries) and the bottled beer selection is large, with beers you canít find anywhere else. If you are in Austin, the Whip In is the place to go.
