Great spot. Had to try this place out after seeing it mentioned in forums. Wanted to take the trip across the Hudson to get some Hair of the Dog, Cigar City, and Ithaca Exlcelsior series. Was impressed with the selection. I would say Oak Tree has a bigger selection but this place is very close and they carry a few brewers that are not available in Jersey.

Wow. I saw three nice places here to buy beer in the store before I even realised they have an entire beer room. I was very impressed. Nice selection with plenty of rarities and very good staff. A definite places to return to. I picked up Hair of the Dog, Nogne, and a bunch of other stuff.

I think it is odd but this is the best selection in the city in terms of breadth, depth, and comprehensiveness. they have way more than 200 different bottles, I’m guessing more in the 500 SKU neighborhood.. And the prices are 10-20% less than most other "reasonably" priced stores....really counterintuitive for Whole Foods right!?! You can also buy home brewing supplies. When the staff is a beer person they seem very knowledgable. Oh and you can buy cases and have them delivered through the main supermarket. Between this and New Beer Distribution down Chrystie St you’ve got the most selection and the best prices in the city.

Great store, nice collection of NY beers and some Euro beers, great vibe, friendly people, wish I could stay several more days... or years.

I actually didnt buy anything here because an emergency came up but I did spend about 20 minutes walking around. The beer room can be a bit difficult to find if you enter through the produce department, but just ask. Excellent selection, friendly staff, and nice ambiance. It’s not just an area of Whole Foods, it’s essentially an attached beer store.

They have a small but packed beer store in the back corner of the supermarket that has a ton of harder to find beers and locals. Great selection of imports and seasonal/special releases. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are a tad high but what do you expect for NYC.

Of the NYC Whole Foods stores, this one is the best for buying beer. Excellent selection, reasonable prices - especially if you take advantage of their tap lines and fill up your growler there. They occasionally have samplings, which is cool. A great spot to find beer from across the United States and around the world.

Great spot. Good selection with a pretty knowledgeable staff, depending on who is working. It is only 2 blocks away from New Beer Distributors, which is a huge plus.

My first trip to this whole foods and I was pretty impressed. As other raters have noted the staff is friendly and helpful, and the growler section has some good deals. Definitely a nice 1-2 punch having New Beer right down the street. Between the two places most folks will be able to find a few things to add to the fridge. For better or worse.Whole Foods buying power is going to give them an advantage on being able to get some hard to get items that are becoming difficult to find.
