Amazing beer selection at this whole foods. 6 or so growler stations to go. Small beer selection inside the main part of the store, but a whole alcove passed the express registers. Amazing selection, well laid out. You can spend quite a bit of money here. An essential stop as far as bottle shops are concerned. Plenty of homebrewing supplies and equipment as well. A very good selection of homebrewing books. Beers seemed a bit on the pricier side of things. A decent amount of cider too. I knocked off quite a few wants list items here.

First of all, this is probably the coolest Whole Foods Iíve been to, especially the restaurant section upstairs, so it has the added advantage of being a great place to grab stuff for your culinary needs as well - yes, it pretty much has everything that you can get down the street at new beer, but itís much cleaner, and the stock is more well-maintained - in addition, their growler fill station has a bigger selection, and is very reasonably priced - the prices as quite fair, especially considering how high the prices have been getting at the more widely visited stores in the city (I saw some beers here that were selling for almost half the price that they were being sold at American Beer) - all in all, a nice addition to the ever-growing list of quality NY beer stores.

A supermarket with a good beer section. Quite a lot of American and international beers, decent prices but most beers can be found cheaper at NBD. Very good opening hours. Worth visiting.

Good sized Whole Foods with its only little beer store that is probably the best by far that I have seen from a Whole Foods. Growlers, home brew supplies, and nice selections of both regional and import bottles. They have it all. Not a whole lot of rarities, but they do get all of the good stuff it just happens to sell fast.

Stumbled upon this store as we did a walking tour through the district. Surprisingly good beer selection (at least I didnt expect it).

Very impressive, interesting that the best part of the store front is given to their beer room. Fine selection of US and imports, very impressive growler filling station. Maybe a sampler system could be an idea before ordering a growler? Combine this with the Beer Distributors down the road, and youíll have plenty!

Large coolers of single bottles and six-packs. Solid international selection but seemed to focus on US micros. Fairly clearly organized with local breweries well marked. Had a larger cider selection than Iím used to seeing, so that was nice. HAd sme interesting growler offerings when I was there, unfortunately I had to pass on them due to my traveling. They didnít seem to have to many rarities, just a solid lineup of quality micros. Very nice.

Iím shocked Iíve never rated this place, Iíve probably purchased beer here a good 20-25 times over the last couple of years. Anyway, this place is great. A really nice selection of beer. Growler fill stations. Free tastings. Sure, the prices are mediocre at best, but since Iím usually walking back with whatever I buy I donít lose an arm and a leg here... I wish they had more choices for singles in the 12 oz size, as the choices there are pretty limited. Overall though, the beer room makes for a really solid beer store.

The best bottle selection Iíve seen in New York yet. Great span of imports, regional, and national micros. Some very limited stuff on the new arrival shelf and a treasure trove for someone with limited distribution in Rhode Island (though not Boston quality, IMO). Prices were good. Note that near the registers thereís a cooler with a fantastic range of cans thatís not available in the little beer section.

Thought I had rated this place before, but apparently not. Very nice selection of bottles and a few growlers. Staff here are happy and helpful, which seems to be a running theme with Whole Foods, but on top of that, the beer staff actually does seem to be fairly knowledgeable. However, the best two things about this Whole Foods donít have to do with the great amount of beer here. Great thing number one: Only a couple of blocks from New Beer Distributors. Great thing number two: Really nice space upstairs that you can hang out and just be a bum, which is often being done by a large amount of people, but itís still nice and fairly tranquil. Though last time there was definitely a homeless guy sitting at the table behind us eating 6 whole lemons.
