First of all, this is probably the coolest Whole Foods Iíve been to, especially the restaurant section upstairs, so it has the added advantage of being a great place to grab stuff for your culinary needs as well - yes, it pretty much has everything that you can get down the street at new beer, but itís much cleaner, and the stock is more well-maintained - in addition, their growler fill station has a bigger selection, and is very reasonably priced - the prices as quite fair, especially considering how high the prices have been getting at the more widely visited stores in the city (I saw some beers here that were selling for almost half the price that they were being sold at American Beer) - all in all, a nice addition to the ever-growing list of quality NY beer stores.

Great place. Very clean, well lit and well organized. Five or six taps are available at all times. The rest of the store has a wide selection of hard to find beers, as well as old stand-bys. The prices are very reasonable, especially for Manhattan. I definitely see better value here than at a lot of places in Long Island.

Maybe Iím rating this place a little to high since i work here, but I think itís a exceptional place. First of all you can pick up a growler here, 64oz for 7.99-13.99. second of all they have a decent selection of local brewers which is always nice, and also a nice variety of beers in general. They donít have hard to come by beers, but still better than most supermarkets. A real convenience I think, you shop for groceries and then pick up a nice brew right at the same place. The staff are die hard customer service freaks, and the buyer is really knowledgeable and has a lot to offer. If youíre in the area you should check it out, and maybe look for me. Overall its a great convenience, that offers good brews and also food to go with your beer. Also I get a discount for working here! Cheap beer!

Large coolers of single bottles and six-packs. Solid international selection but seemed to focus on US micros. Fairly clearly organized with local breweries well marked. Had a larger cider selection than Iím used to seeing, so that was nice. HAd sme interesting growler offerings when I was there, unfortunately I had to pass on them due to my traveling. They didnít seem to have to many rarities, just a solid lineup of quality micros. Very nice.

My first trip to this whole foods and I was pretty impressed. As other raters have noted the staff is friendly and helpful, and the growler section has some good deals. Definitely a nice 1-2 punch having New Beer right down the street. Between the two places most folks will be able to find a few things to add to the fridge. For better or worse.Whole Foods buying power is going to give them an advantage on being able to get some hard to get items that are becoming difficult to find.

I was very impressed with the offerings at the beer room. Basically it was most of the things that I have seen in other places locally all in one spot. Quality ranged from 3rd world junk to several nice Belgians. I just wish that New Beer was open when I was there as it is just around the corner. The highlight is really the growler fills which are rather cheap for some very good beer. Staff is highly helpful and are willing to take suggestions for new brands to carry. As a slight correction, they are now advertising that they have 400 bottles, not 200 has the site claims. As far as food goes, Whole Foods is tough to beat on that front disregarding price.

Decent enough, but its rare to find a single thing here you canít get down the street at New Beer for $1 less. They also have many expensive bottles right up against a west facing window, drenched in sunlight. Most stuff here will be fresh though, unlike NBD which often has beers years old. Really, though, I go into this place every time I go to New Beer and have only ever spent maybe $50.

This is the best Whole Foods to hit up if you are looking for beer. They have growler fills for about $10 (I got some Captain Lawrence DIPA) and a selection of quality beers (tho not a vast selection). I was able to pick up HOTD Doggie Claws, Adam, Yulesmith and a Goose Island Bourbon County Stout when I went. Staff was very helpful as well.

A decent selection. While you wonít find any rare brews, their varied stock has most everything you need for you average night. No food inside this section of Whole Foods, but good grub is to be had. For the harder to find stuff, and slightly better prices, head 3 blocks down to New Beer
