A good place to buy beer in Austin on Sunday, just have to hit it after noon. Not as many locals as Grapevine, but they did have more Belgians it appeared. I picked up a Duvel 4-pack + glass for $11, so Iím quite happy. Thereís a new Whole Foods building going in across 6th street from the current location.

Flagship Whole Foods store in Austin. Huge place, kind of tough to navigate the parking lot. Staff was friendly but didnít know much. Solid selection but most of it is in a cooler, which I didnít need because I was traveling with it. Prices for beer were fair but everything else is overpriced. I guess itís worth a stop for bottles but Iíd rather go to Whip In if possible.

While working in Austin for a few months, this is my weekly visit to stock up for the week. They have a good selection of locals, a few western micros and a great selection of Belgians- rough guess about 50 different ones in the cooler. Donít just look in the cooler, turn around, over by the wine is a shelf with about 20 Belgians, mostly in 750 ml bottles. Also have sakeí, meads and ciders. The take out food is pretty good in the deli and the service is quick and friendly and very "earthy".

Wish there was a means of adding where in took into account multiple stores. This one tends to have more & better than north store, but not always. BIG NEW store coming which will likely have a HUGE impact on beer & with any luck a very positive one. Occasionally have great sales.

We visited the place where it all started (or at least the current location near where it all started) today. This place has a nice bar (only 6 beers on tap when I visited, not the 8 listed in the description), and a really nice selection of bottles in the walk-in fridge area. It was a pretty cool set-up, and we enjoyed a beer from the tap while we perused the selection in the fridge. If I lived near by Iíd definitely be back here for the some combination shopping and drinking.

For Austin, I think this Whole Foods almost ties Central Market, but not quite, for selection. Nice atmosphere, though, and the focus is, as Julrey said, whittled down very slightly from what Central Market has, yet focuses on the better beers. Very cold in the arctic beer room.

The Flagship Whole Foods location which features a huge store and parking garage so finding a place to park is not difficult, which is nice since there is very little parking in Downtown Austin. A great selection of beers, as with most Whole Foods. Also has a bar with a nice tap selection.

Another great WFM. Walk-in beer cooler with a good amount of variety. Well organized. HUGE glassware selection. Friendly knowledgeable staff and always a wonderful place to grab a bite.
