A bigger Whole Foods than most in the city, this one is pretty neat. Nice selection of beer, larger than expected with some more hard to find beers (Saison Brett, for one!). Prices are reasonable and the location is pretty accessible. Not sure if the service is knowledgeable and I don’t tend to ask. They are friendly, though.

My girl and I went grocery shopping here during a recent trip to Chicago so I decided to grab some beer while we were at it. Atmosphere is just like any other Whole Foods in that it’s much nicer and more sophisticated than your average food retailer. Considering this place is not a full-blown liquor store, the beer selection is very impressive and most of it is refrigerated. Love the "Microbrews" signage and style descriptions above the cooler. Brands on my visit included Goose Island, Great Lakes, Bell’s, Unibroue, St. Peter’s, Victory, Dogfish Head, Anchor, Great Divide, Brooklyn, Stone, Rogue, Duvel, Lagunitas, and Sierra Nevada. I bought a 6-pack of New Belgium Ranger IPA to quaff at our hotel room. Although I was disappointed that I couldn’t find any glassware, I will still return to this store when I find myself back in Chicago, since it’s a convenient stop for beer & groceries.
