Sat at the downstairs bar on a somewhat busy night. Top floor has a front patio for seating. Inside is an open floor plan, lots of table seating and a bar against the back wall. Rustic looking with exposed ceilings...downstairs is similiar with a small bar and huge outdoor seating area. Did not see any guest taps, only wicked weed, which is ok. Friendly helpful staff. Great beer destination.

Visited here on Father’s Day weekend 2014 on a Saturday night. The place was packed, but they handled the crowd well and was able to grab a beer while waiting. Indoor and outdoor seating - we were place outside - weather was great - perfect setting. They have about 10 or 12 of their beers on tap and a few bottled high gravity selections. All I tried were excellent. Food was excellent, lots of "foodie" type offerings - I had the trout sandwich with capers - excellent. Service was prompt, friendly, earthy and knowledgeable. A must visit if in the Asheville area.

Visited brewpub on way through town. Very large upstairs, downstairs, and patio area. Plenty of room to spread out. Also lots of families and groups getting together. Was busy, but did not feel too busy. Lots of beers on tap to choose from too. Definitely worth a stop when in Asheville.

There are brewpubs and then there are great brewpubs well this is on the list as one of the best brewpubs in the country hands down It was top of our list to visit while in Asheville and boy did it live up to its hype and even exceeding it. In the center of the city, great location with nice outside patio area, large bar and seating area, and a downstairs inside/outside patio area with bars in both locations. You couldn’t get a better layout. For beer selection, they had like 25 taps upstairs and 20 or so downstairs with some duplicates but a handful that were only available in their respective locations. We were there on a Friday and come to find out they don’t do tasters due to how busy they usually are on Fridays and Saturdays. Lucky for us we had an attentive manager who listened to our plea for wanting to try all of their beers and food. We were able to try every beer in the place, they just kept bringing them over the course of an hour or so. The service, as you can tell, was outstanding from the manager to our server to others we encountered. Knowledgable about their beers and beer in general. The beers themselves were outstanding across the board. The food menu was also well laid out and a nice variety of dishes to choose from for a brewpub. Everything we had was outstanding and would go back just for the food much less the beer. The prices were ridiculously great from the tasters to the bottles we purchased. The fact they had many of the rare bottles for sale to take away plus growlers (32 or 64oz) of anything was another big plus in our book. We walked out of there with bottles, growlers, and merchandise in which they had t-shirts with a great logo as well as their glassware was even awesome. The ambiance was unbelievable even though it got busy toward the time we were leaving. An absolute hidden gem in the heart of North Carolina. These guys are doing everything right and should keep making the great beer along with the world class location and service at their brewpub. My friend and I are fortunate in having visited many brewpubs and bars throughout the US and the World and the only place that could even rival all the qualities it possess is Russian River in Santa Rosa. We both agree having visited both places that we feel Wicked Weed has a slight edge with the location, ambiance (patio, inside, downstairs/outside) and food edging it out. Either way, both are World Class examples of how to run a brewpub serving your own beer and food. An absolute must visit for any beer nerd in their lifetime, you’d be doing yourself an injustice for not trying to make it to Asheville to visit Wicked Weed and the other great local breweries they have to offer. Keep up the greatness. I will be back again real soon!

Third stop on our trip. Was a happening place, very crowded. We were able to find a couple of seats at the bar, but no samplers were offered due to the time being past 7pm. Our bar maid gave me a couple of samples. It was suggested we go downstairs, samplers were still available there. Wow, the downstairs was crowded, but a few tables were open. We grabbed one and were amazed at the number of beers on their tap list. I lost count, but tried two samplers before we headed out. Great atmosphere, and an even cooler place to visit. Best stop thus far.

This place is a killer spot in Asheville to enjoy some really excellent brews ... and everyone knows it. I stopped by at 8 pm on a wednesday night and both upstairs and downstairs were packed to the rafters. The range of beer is wonderful and the small sampling I has seemed to be spot on. Although I couldn’t even grab a spot at the bar, had I had more time I think I could have really sat back and enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and great beer.

One of my favorite places. No, the food is not so great. But so what? The beer is world-class. The range of styles is impressive. The brewery’s willingness to experiment is admirable. One of the best places to drink in the country. One recent drawback: The downstairs bar has been turned from a chill place to have a great beer and to converse to a less lovely place into which unnecessarily loud music is piped. Gone is the chill, replaced with a thoroughly forced pseduo-party atmosphere. Sad.
