One of my favorite places. No, the food is not so great. But so what? The beer is world-class. The range of styles is impressive. The brewery’s willingness to experiment is admirable. One of the best places to drink in the country.

A great place in Asheville. The best place that I visited while in town. A huge selection of taps. I only had the opportunity to try around 6, but there were probably 30-40 different beers on tap. All beers I sampled were solid to very good. In addition, has a really nice atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out! I will be back!

This place is the B.O.M.B. Service was great, as is the food and beer selection, and the dual-level bars are awesome. Wicked Weed lives up to the hype. Go there. Immediately.

Awesome place in downtown Asheville. The upstairs and downstairs collectively have an unbelievable amount of taps - 44, by my count, without much overlap. The atmosphere is incredible. Well-appointed, perfectly lit, with beautiful woodwork. Inviting upstairs and down, with a sizeable patio downstairs, too. Big chalkboard menus, with two sizes of most beers available. The upstairs has really good food. Prices are fair. The staff is good. But the only thing that put me off is the two doormen regulating the crowd inside at night. It seemed like they were being overly strict, as it was clear there was plenty of room. The beer is excellent. Best place and best beer in town. Absolutely essential visit.

A gem in Asheville. Dedicated brewing people, lots of equipment, trying to play like the big boys. Quality above average, better across the board than the rest of Asheville. Upstairs is showing off some culinary skills. Big fire pit out front. Awesome place to drink as a local. Lots of new beer with few duds, no television sets and vegetables on the feeding list.

Visited a couple of times during RBWG. I want to back! This has so much to like. Great beer of all varieties, good food, active social activities. A sharp staff definitely helps. They welcomed us so nicely during our visit and on my other stop. Just an awesome place.

Visited for RBWG 2014. Got a personal tour from the head brewer in the downstairs bar, very thorough and enjoyable. Downstairs bar is really an extension of the brewery, with an erotic budoir-style mirror over the open fermentor. The beers were nothing short of amazing. Upstairs is much larger, slightly less intimate. Both are ultra-modern. Food is tasty and creative. Staff is very generous with the samples, despite being outrageously busy. One of the best places in Asheville, and holds its own against the world’s best brewpubs. THE wave of the future in craft beer has arrived.

Visited for RBWG 2014. Wow, this place is awesome. Nice big bar and restaurant upstairs. Downstairs is a cool tasting room and the brewery. I haven’t been to many breweries that I like every beer I tried. Friendly and helpful staff. I just wish we would have had more time. This is a must stop location if you are anywhere near Asheville.

Visited during RBWG 2014. Easily the highlight of the weekend. These guys really rolled out the red carpet for the RB crew, giving us an in-depth tour of their brewing facility and taking us through a tasting of several of their beers.
The beers were, overall, fantastic and showed mastery of several styles, including IPA, saison and sour. The place itself is extremely sleek; you can tell a lot of time and planning (and money) went into this place. It doesn’t look like any detail has been overlooked. The aesthetics are immaculate, the staff is friendly and well-trained, the wood is solid. With some 25 beers available on draft, you will want to leave yourself a good chunk of time to take this place in. But taking this place in was an absolute joy and I wish I could have spent more time here. My only qualm is that they don’t offer tasting flights on Saturdays. Their reasoning for not doing so is understandable (Saturdays are busy and I think they can accommodate 400 covers at once) but it would have been nice to have a flight.
Overall, this is a world class brewpub, easily the best in Asheville but also one of the best I have ever visited anywhere.
