54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 11/20
Endroit immense où se retrouve les gens d’affaires et employés du mall sur le dîner. Une sélection classique des pub anglais sans perles rares et pour la nourriture, je resterai muet. Le service était courtois et l’ambiance en tant que tel n’était pas désagréable.

Slightly below par Spoons, better heading along to the Plough and Harrow if in the area, a bit cheaper and, IMHO, a more interesting cask selection.

Spoons between the 2 Hammersmith tube stations (was a Lloyds when I first visited some years back).
Average spoons - daylight at either end but still dark.
Couple of guests usually on offer on top of the Ruddlesabbotblurgh!
Update: 15/06/13. 3 guests all from Itchen Valley, the Hampshire Rose was on good form.
Clientele seems to be people passing through and meeting up for a night out in Hammersmith, no sense of local feel as per most spoons, a few old man local drinkers buying 2 pints of bitter at a time!
I normally walk down the river a little to the Dove (Fullers) in preference if I have time to kill but if you’re pushed for time this is convenient for the tube but I’d hit the Swan (Nicholsons) next door as a first choice every time.
Average Spoons fayre.

Pretty standard ’spoonies located near the Broadway exit of Hammersmith station. Low lighting, sort of claustrophobic. There were maybe 8 beers on cask. The selection wasn’t great. Mostly GK stuff that you can find anywhere. They did have one Itchen Valley beer on. That was as exciting as it got. Really cheap prices considering the central location. Pints of bitter are about £2.60. Overall, any port in a storm. I preferred the Nicholson’s pub next door.

The larger and more popular Wetherspoon pub of two in Hammersmith, and closest to the tube stations as well. There are a couple of entrances, the smaller of which is used when bouncers are controlling the flow into this Lloyds Bar part of the chain. It does get more partylike at the weekend although the clientele is very mixed most of the time. The bar stocks the usual set of drinks and ale is served on a couple of pump rows.

Decent Spoonies down in Hammersmith. Located close to a Nicholson’s pub (The Swan) and one or two other places. Eight casks available in here at good prices. Bar staff was pretty attentive. It’s a more modern JDW, maybe a Lloyds No. 1 or something. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
