78 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20
We visited here on Friday 26th December 2014, after a great clifftop walk from Weybourne to Sheringham. This is great little two roomed pub, interestingly the lounge and the bar are totally separate, in fact to access one from the other you have to walk outside and enter through the respective door, you cannot even view each of them when sat in one or the other. We plumped for the lounge as some folk were playing pool in the bar and it is a relatively small bar. A pretty reasonable beer offering with two Wolf Beers (Timber and also Edith Cavell), one Elm Tree, one Woodfordes (but shock, horror not Wherry :-) ) a Crones cider and one other handpump (not on) made up the selection at this pub which in terms of real ale/cider, I understand sells only Norfolk beers and ciders. The lounge is long and narrow, simply furnished with plenty of tables. The landlady was a real character, great, she was chatty, polite, funny but really interesting and engaging, and totally on top of her game running the place you could tell that her daughter was heading that way also. A healthy mix of locals and visitors made sure it was well frequented. It was a nice atmosphere, we had a couple here, I’ve only been to one other pub in Sheringham today so cannot comment on all the pubs, however I think this would take some beating, we really enjoyed it here.

This is a 2 bar local with additional Restaurant. There is a good beer range with local micro’s to the fore. The place to be is in the outdoor seating area. Cask and Bottled beers are on sale from local Brewers. The food is excellent, particularly locally caught crab.
