100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 Apollo (10) | October 25, 2007| Updated February 10, 2012 Had not been to Wine and Cheese in Clayton in awhile, but I friend of mine said go in and check out the beer. Amazing how much better the selection has become. They have beers that I have not seen anywhere else in St. Louis. Wonderful imports like Mikkeller, Nogne, Panil, Struise Pannepot. I just missed the reserve Pannepot :( They seem to get the lions share of hard to get beer in St. Louis. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 bsuedekum (18) Saint Louis, Missouri | July 15, 2012| Updated February 10, 2012 The score says it all, this is the perfect beer store. They do everything the right way and the staff are all awesome and helpful. I can’t reccommend this place enough. | 98 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 lizziec (10) , | July 15, 2008| Updated April 7, 2009 Just went to their Beer Festival last weekend and was stunned at the selection. Beers from Dieu du Ciel, Mikkeller, Bear Republic, Bells, Caldera, Nogne, Southern Tier, Avery, Left Hand, Tin Mill, lots of limited and hard to get Danish, Belgians and more beer than you will ever find anywhere. Worth checking out. | 98 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 lopezlopezlope (11) , | February 8, 2012| Updated April 7, 2009 awesome...particularly for online purchases! | 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 xmarcnolanx (1) Kirkwood, Missouri | June 14, 2010| Updated April 7, 2009 Paul is the man! Seriously. If the store does not have a beer/wine/whiskey/mead/cheese/ whatever.... he’ll order it for you if he can get it.
They carry almost every beer available in St. Louis (obviously can’t help not carrying the ones that don’t get distributed here), and works hard to get new beers into our area.
The cheese selection is great, as is the wine selection, but the beer is really starting to stand out.
| 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 19/20 rking (1) St. Louis, Missouri | May 31, 2010| Updated April 7, 2009 The place to buy beer, wine, or cheese in St. Louis | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 618Brews (1) St. Louis, Missouri | January 7, 2011| Updated April 7, 2009 My personal favorite place to buy beer in St Louis. I have never found a better beer store anywhere else. Clean, well lit, great selection, and 4 out of 5 trips someone is there asking if I need assistance. They always get the rarest beers that come in the area and allow customers to join waiting lists to have a chance to obtain the hardest to come by beers. Paul keeps everyone up to date on new arrivals via all forms of social networking. Also they have a HUGE selection of wine and liquor and assorted cheeses and meats but I have yet to buy anything but beer there. Also worth noting they do weekly tastings and have even done special vertical tastings. Overall an amazing store. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 samuelmuindi (1) | April 11, 2009| Updated April 7, 2009 The best place in the St Louis area to buy hard to find beer (and scotch). Not only are the prices very reasonable, the beer is usually pretty fresh. | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 beerzebub (1) St. Louis, Missouri | March 20, 2010| Updated April 7, 2009 The selection of beers is arguably the very best anywhere. Some stores go just for total numbers, some for their idea of "fewer but high quality" beers. Why settle? This place has 99.9% of any beer you are likely to want, plus their prices are always, repeat always, lower than anyone else in the region. I am not one to shy away from blasting the poor performers, but this place wins on every count. | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 monkeychugg55 (30) Joliet, Illinois | March 10, 2010| Updated January 22, 2011 Kinda hard to find, but well worth it. Very helpful staff. They have a great selection and awesome prices. Larger selection of English beers than I’m used to, with a good spread of beers from everywhere else. Had EVERY Mikkeller Single Hop, and all Founder’s 6 and 4 packs were on sale for 7.49, for example. Definitely worth a stop if in or near St. Louis. |
