Stopped in before a Charlotte Checkers game. Didnít sample any food just had a few brews. Bartender was very helpful. Had the Cottonwood/Carolina Blonde line-up. Good stuff. Like to go there for dinner sometime.

Visited here in March and purchased the sampler which came with Carolina Light, Carolina Blonde, Strawberry Ale, Cottonwood Endo IPA, Cottonwood Lowdown Brown Ale, Cottonwood Irish Style Red, Cottonwood American Wheat Ale, Cottonwood Frostbite, and Cottonwood Almond Stout. Honestly, none of the beers were exceptional to the point where I would want to order again, but all were fairly solid. The food here has to be the big draw, as it is kinda a gourmet country fusion. Interesting, to say the least. The entrees can be a bit on the high end even for lunch. However, they serve more food than most can eat in two settings. We split the Hash Fried Chicken with mac and cheese, collard greens and onion rings, and we had food left to take home. We enjoyed the visit.

I was surprised to see 10 different beers from the Carolina beer company on the menu. I though a lot of these were only seasonal until this point. I think some of the Cottonwood lineup is pretty tasty, the Endo is certainly better fresh on tap. Our server was very efficient and extremely polite and helpful. Ambiance is cozy and dim. The rennovation since the Southend days have all been for the better. The food was spectacular. I had the shrimp and grits, the lady had a wood-fired chicken pizza with sweet potato brulee for dessert. Itís not exactly cheap, but I found the quality to be well worth the buck. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

The location is the former South End in Charlotte. This is a big improvement. The beers are from the Carolina Beer company. Tried teh high Gravity Frost bite and Platinum Blonde. Of note they were not served in 8.5 oz glasses for my safety. Also tried a porter and strawberry. All good but room for improvement. The bar staff was knowledgable and while i did not eat the food looked and smelled geat. I will definatley go back. Looking forward to see what they brew there starting next month.
