This place has quite a few brews packed into a small place. They are typically priced fairly, and you can buy singles of most brews (not all, though). The staff there is often eager to help, but not very knowledgeable.

Really a cool place. I’m not from TN, so I’m not used to being able to drink a beer that you just bought, unless its a bar or restaurant. I love the whole lounge setup. The lounge looks a little dirty, though- more like a barn loft with leather chairs. But still very comfortable with a great selection. Updated 10/6/2011: The lounge is gone, so are the taps, and the selection has dropped. You probably don’t want to go here, the new Whole Foods has a better low grav selection.

Great selection of "normal" beers (the hi-alc stuff is next door in the adjacent wine store). Four taps, with a nice little lounge to drink in house. They also have some nice tastings periodically.

Good selection of cigars. Good sales as well. You can always get a good value on a good smoke. Decent selection of beers. They’re always trying to bring in something new. They have four beers on tap. They change fairly frequently and there’s usually something pretty good. Staff is very knowledgeable on both fronts. Woody’s is a smoke shop, so be ready for plenty of cigar and cigarette smoke.

Impressively big smoke shop with a great low alc beer selection and four taps. I picked up several things I can’t get in Knoxville and the staff was kind enough to hold a bottle behind the counter for me.

Most beers available in the Nashville area that are 6.3% and below can be found at this place. There are a few obscure imports but everything else is micros. The liquor store next door has a few good high alc’s and it’s increasing. Update: as of now, there is no more lounge or draft beer. The layout of the store is completely different since they expanded the liquor store. It looks nice but certainly is a shock if you are used to the old look and feel.

I’ve visited this place a lot over the last few years, but they are just now starting to get it with the craft beer scene. New brands/selections in all the time now, with singles available for those of us who like to try something once before we buy a sixer (or if you’re like me you try something once and then find something else you haven’t had and try it). The newer staff are knowledgeable and courteous (and are RBians). The high abv side is getting better as well. They definately have the right people now. They just need to continue to develop the beer culture.

Pretty nice shop. Decent selection of micros and imports. Staff was friendly and fairly knowledgable, both about cigars and beers. They have 4 rotating taps with some pretty tasty beers (currently, new belgum 1554 and fat tire, sierra nevada anniversary, fort collins chocolate stout) Happy hour prices are from 5-8pm and are about $3 a pint. They also have a fairly large selection (about 175) of cold singles that can be consumed on site or taken home. Additionally, they have a walk-in cooler of cold six-packs that houses about 100 different varieties of just micros and imports a separate walk-in houses the typical macros. The liquor side next door houses about 75 high alcohol beers: avery, stone, dogfishhead. Worth a stop if you are anywhere in the area, especially if you want to relax and drink a good beer while smoking a nice cigar.

This place is half cigar store, half beer store. The selection is ok, nothing worth going out of your way for. Thanks to stupid TN liquor laws and a crappy distributor. They do sell cold singles, which is not very common in Nashville. Singles are mostly regional stuff, along with Rogue, Abita, Sam Adams, etc. Anyone with over 300 ratings may not find much here they have not already had. They have a nice area upstairs, where you can lounge, have a cigar, drink your beer, and watch a big screen TV. Cheaper than drinking in a bar. Downside is that the cigar aroma makes it a crappy place to rate. The selection of high ABV beers next door is a joke. Stone IPA and AB, Sierra Celebration, Rogue OC, and that’s about it.

Nice upstairs and the cigar selection is a plus, but the amount of COLD beer available (bottle only) is limited. For a place to watch a game and drink/smoke - the tv is on the fritz.

Since the older guys quit/moved the service has gone down hill, the current manager would rather you get it, buy something, and get out. Primarily a smokes store anyhow.

Overall, definately a cool place, but I wouldn’t travel out of your way to visit this place. I was there recently and I don’t remember any pool table...
