62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 10/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | May 20, 2012 Very smsll place with a fairly ordinary selection. No CCB, for instance. Only worth trying if you’re passing by. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (561) Columbus, Ohio | December 5, 2011 (Visited 06/2011): World of Beer in Clearwater is located on Gulf To Bay (Rte 60) not too far from where the bridge begins. The plaza has plentiful parking.
Not much to look at from the outside. The interior is small with the beer selection primarily on the right side in coolers.
Pretty fair selection including Florida breweries like Ybor City and Dunedin. Other domestic craft breweries like Rogue, Dogfish Head, and Ommegang are present too. As for imports there are options from Belgium, Germany, the UK etc. Customers can also purchase singles.
Service was knowledgeable and friendly on my quick visit. There were a couple gents behind the counter and they were both clearly beer fans.
Overall this is a good spot to check out not too far from the airport. | 90 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 Tmoney99 (366) Cincinnati, Ohio | November 21, 2008 Went here during a business trip. Long and narrow with well organized shelfs on the left and coolers on the right. Very good selection and allowed singles. Freindly and knowledgable service. Very good location and will stop when back in the area. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 Ibrew2or3 (300) Tempe, Arizona | July 13, 2006| Updated September 22, 2006 Selection really good and being able to walk out with whatever group of singles your mind can conjure up is a big plus. Everyone I’ve talked with who works there is a genuine article beer geek. They seemed to have tasted everything they sell, which is amazing considering the selection. And they want to steer you in the right direction. I’ve brought a number of beers to the counter and been advised to reconsider the selection. Typically because it’s been something like Harveys Imp Stout or Schlenkerla’s Rauchbier Marzen because of the aggressive and overpowering flavors (you’ll know what I mean if you give the Schlenkerla a try). The help is as outstanding as the selection. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 PorterPounder (244) Tallahassee, Florida | March 29, 2010| Updated September 22, 2006 Stopped by here in late March ’10. Small store front location next to a greyhound station - but don’t let that deter you. A half dozen or so coolers of bombers await the beer hunter. Lots of northeast brewers represented - many new to the area. Friendly service - the owner is familiar with Ratebeer and seems to know just about everybody - even broke out his notebook of business cards . Plenty of singles to choose from - only complaint - no prices from what I recall - but the total at the register was not a shocker. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (228) Enghien, Belgium | May 16, 2008| Updated September 22, 2006 Small place, friendly service, knowledgable staff.
A very nice selection of mostly American crfat, Belgian, German and British beers. Does stock a few eastern European, Canadians, etc.
They do have many beers that are not available at most stores, but do not really stock the very hard to find.
I wish they would show the price on their bottles as some 12oz. can easily go over the $5-6 | 84 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 hopdog (222) Lansdale, Pennsylvania | February 16, 2005| Updated September 22, 2006 Lots of singles. Great place. Must stop if in the area. They even gave me 2 free glasses for stopping by and buying a lot of beer. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 argo0 (205) Washington DC | January 6, 2004 Great store located between the airport and my folks house -- a must stop to get me through any visit!! The owner is nuts, but he knows his beer and is incredibly enthusiastic. I wouldn't be surprised if WOB sells every beer available in Florida. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 MikeF (204) Cleveland, Ohio | March 21, 2007| Updated March 9, 2010 This is one of the purest beer bottle shops I have ever been to. Great selection and best of all one of the most knowledgable owners around. Definitely worth the stop if you are anywhere near tampa. Perfect to pick up a few bottles on your way to clearwater beach! | 62 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 beastiefan2k (152) Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas | March 27, 2011| Updated March 9, 2010 Stopped by while vacationing and on my from the beach. Its is right across from the original Hooters. Store space is small but well stocked, most beer in the fridge and all in singles. However, after 2 minutes I left empty handed. There was only 1 CC, the brown and all the American crafts are rather widely available throughout the states so nothing interesting. The Import selection was almost non-existent. |
