This place is what I wish more brewpubs were like. Nice atmosphere, friendly service and good food. The beers are well made with a nice balance between conventional styles and more experimental one-offís, wood-aged beers, etc. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

First time here, great location in basement of old mansion. Got a scare when the cab dropped us off in front of an empty building, though. gave it good marks especially for its own beers, each one pretty true to style

Lovely brewpub in hip area. I thought all the beers were solid and the food very good. The goat sausage a bit of a let down, but the house pastrami rocked.

This was my first visit and I hope to have many more. First, the building is pretty easy to find. Itís a really nice looking building with old southern columns. However, getting to the brewpub is another story. The front door doesnít go to the pub. If youíre facing the building go around the side of the building to the left and go in through those doors. There isnít a sign as of my visit signifying which door to go in. Just go in behind the patio tables.
The interior looks great. Stone and wood. Staff wears mechanics shirts with a Wrecking Bar logo patch. The service was impeccable. I never saw my water glass less than a quarter full and the servers were friendly and knowledgeable. The beer was equally good. 5 beers currently on tap. I donít know if that will be the standard number as they get established or itís just the number on currently. Chris Terenzi was the brewer at US Border Cantina back in the day and itís nice to have him back brewing. My pulled pork sandwich was good and Matt (previous rater) and others Iíve heard have raved about the burger. Basically the menu was upscale pub grub.
Theyíve only been open a week so the quality here is impressive.

Went here over the Christmas break not knowing what to expect. Beer was above average, food was nice, but the best part about it was the atmosphere. The fully restored and renovated basement of a huge old mansion was unique and frankly badass. Will certainly be going back.

Found this place on a night layover in atlanta place was abuzz with activity loved it. The service was quick and very friendly not many bars in knsas have 11 beers on tap like this place. Had the pulled pork it was mouth watering and not expensive this is a must go to place in atlanta.

Sweet space down below. I have not had a chance to check out the event space above but hear that is pretty nice as well. Always something new and exciting on tap including barrel aged beers or interesting serving vessels, see the coconut porter served in a coconut. Food is decent and washes down the beer well with some well thought out beer drinking kind of dishes. Definitely worth a stop if you are in town and super easy to access via public transportation. Go here now!

Gorgeous bar, great food, awesome beer, fantastic food, and wonderful, friendly service. Can select almost all beers in two different sizes so you can try more beers without getting too wasted. Loved this place.

Kicking off with four starter beers - hey, it canít all be mango-and-mint-infused barleywines on day one - they successfully delivered a quality golden, amber, witbier, and stout. As of writing this, theyíve already released a fifth beer: an English mild. The bar staff gave me their word that cask beer will be offered fairly soon.
While not exactly extensive, the menu is certainly diversified enough to provide you what youíre looking for, whether itís a salad, sandwich, entree, appetizer, or, as I usually opt for (and did on this occasion), a beer-accompanying cheese plate.
Then, thereís the parking situation. If I find a place has limited or no parking available, requires me to hike a mile through unsavory parts of town, or is surrounded by ill-conceived, over-charging lots, then, well, theyíll be unlikely to see me again anytime soon. The Wrecking Bar has only a small number of spaces available, however, they currently have valets. Thank God for valets. I pray they remain in place at the Wrecking Bar.
With good food and good beer housed in a cool venue, oh, and with those trusty, hard-working valets, Iíll definitely be back soon. All in all, a pleasant spot that still even has that "new bar" scent.
