Good location with a casual feel, nice to be able to get good simple food with nice craft beers. Selection of bottles is medium but expensive, some Belgians, taps are varied between international (always some German) and locals. Rotates often. Drafts are priced how you’d expect for Toronto. I really like the place.

On the 2nd floor was this huge concrete beer hall with long wooden tables, a sausage deli counter in the back and a long bar along one wall. While not exactly a craft bar they have a solid tap list and had a set 6 beer tasting set for 12$, I also grabbed a danger dog curry wurst which was pretty good. I loved the red tiled wall with WVRST written on it in the style of the Toronto subway stations. One negative - in my taster all the beers were in the wrong slots, I figured it out but it lowers the service mark and for beer newbies would be confusing - kind of unprofessional. The music was quite loud too, focusing on being hip rather than the beer. A good place for sausages though prices are high.

Really nice communal beer hall space. Service was pleasant and selection was reasonable. I had a hard time finding anything really interesting. Food was good if you like sausages. Prices were just too high. It would be unlikely that I would return.

Beer hall type place, had a great lunch and beers. Did a sampler of Germans/lagers then moved on to Ontario brews and a couple of Le trou du diable beers. Really liked this place, you like sausage and beer this is Nirvana.

Ended up here for some food and a beer after a conference that let out early (around 3ish) and had this place completely to ourselves. Its on the second floor with some nice windows overlooking King St and seating is more family style/German beer hall but its quite roomy. Since I can only rate on what I experienced the service was top notch not too mention that all servers have their cicerone server certification so know a fair amount about the beers. The food is excellent but obviously don’t come here if you don’t like sausages. The beer selection was decent, combination of German, Ontario and some Quebec, and they were happy to provide a sample of whatever I wanted but I think that was more because there was nobody there - the actual sample tray is preset based on their selection and you can’t change anything.

This really is a ’beer hall’. You go up and order and pay, get a number, and they’ll bring you your food/drinks. Long tables fill the space, and you sit wherever you like, next to whoever happens to be there at the time. Music was kinda annoying, but then I’m not a big fan of hiphop/rap, so it may have been just the day I was there. Food was quite good: quality sausages and fries with a selection of dipping sauces; tried their currywurst, which was different but tasty. Husband had more traditional sausage on a bun which was really nicely done. I’ll probably stick to the sausage on the bun next time.

Liked the place but we were then when it was pretty empty. The staff cares and knows about the beer which is refreshing.

One of the larger beer bars in Toronto I tend to come to Wvrst for beer events, or "outings" like someones birthday. It’s downtown location attracts a busy crowd on weekend evenings, so try to come earlier if you are looking for a quieter visit. The meu is not extensive, primarily featuring a selection of sausages all of which are pretty tasty available on a bun or on their own. beer prices are not cheap, though the 1L steins can be a deal. Staff is friendly but vary in their beer knowledgability. Seating is "beer hall" style with a number of picnic tables and raised communal tables. Beer is bar service only, but you can order drinks with your food which will get delivered to your table. Approximately 10-15 taps I think? Nice spot, easy to get to downtown and well worth a visit, but if you are not looking to try the sausage there are other places in town that I would prioritize over this one if your time in Toronto is limited.

This place is down right wicked awesome cool. Hands down the place i think to go for a beer in toronto. It has all the makings for my kind of place. One of minor features which makes it that much better then most bars, is the order your food and pay, not having to wait for the waitress to give you your bill and pay. The convenience is assume. My only complaint is the beer is kind of a bit expensive even for toronto standards. But its not enough to scare me off and clearly the patrons of toronto, as it is always crazy busy when your here. Recommend coming here early for dinner or lunch as you can miss some of the traffic.
