Went on a Wednesday evening during a recent trip to Denver. The place was bustling and the beer was flowing. I ordered the sampler and it seemed like there were beers of all styles across the rainbow and they were all middle of the road. The beer was ok, the food was very good, and good vegetarian fare also. I would be back if I was hungry and around northern downtown.

This place is quite large. Upstairs and downstairs (seemed to be where the brewing is done, and where the bathrooms are). Lots of stuff on tap, I think about 12 beers or so. Overall, beer quality is good. Some losers and some winners, most in between. Service was not the best. Our server didn’t seem to be all that interested in helping us, wasn’t very personable, etc. If you’re here to watch sports, you kind of have to pick the game you want and find the TV that has it on because they’re arranged strangely and the bar isn’t really conducive to seeing more than one of the screens.

Visited on 10/11/12. GABF Week. (Stop #2 of the day)
A: Huge building with lots of bar space that can hold easily 20-30 patrons, plenty of tables, brewing tanks in back corner and a large patio. Really nice classic feel to the place.
Q: The beers we all tried were decent, no duds amongst our entire group of 5.
S: Service was decent, we got there before the place got busy and the server was friendly and knew about the beers, although slightly slow on taking orders.
S: Great Selection of In House beers, just short of 20 different beers that covered all the various styles.
F: Average on a really good day...of the 5 different dishes that we ordered, only one person was really happy with their dish. Not because we didnt like the food, but they were mostly boring or just not that good. This place had the worst food that we ate for our entire trip.
V: Pints and samples were priced about average for the area, 5-6 bucks per pints, flights were 9 bucks. Food was slightly higher in price.
Overall, if you go to Wynkoop, go for the beer, pass on the food.

Great brewpub conveniently located in downtown Denver. Huge place with a sprawling upper floor area with pool tables and shuffleboard.
Food was quite good. I had the mac and cheese with elk sausage. Good selection of their own beers, which are slightly better than average for the most part.

Great place. The food was great, and the beer was pretty good, but not great. Nice place to hang out.

Visited November 2012.
This place takes the cake for most house beers on tap at once even outdoing Vine St (possibly tied with Rogue). I got there late and had already made a couple of stops so it was a bit much to try all twenty-whatever ticks. I did try two flights worth though including the “rocky mountain oyster” stout which didn’t taste any different than a regular stout (not that I have any way of knowing if the bull testicles actually change the flavor at all). Sadly there was also a chile beer in there. Downstairs in the basement is the brewing equipment, the bathrooms, and a lot of oak barrels, some of which contained mead. I would be interested to see what all they have during GABF. The service was pretty good, the prices were reasonable, and it was a loud/busy bar. Could be a fun place to hang out. Oh, and I made sure to get a picture with the life size bronze gorilla statue in the entrance.

This is a great place to spend an evening. The beer is a little above average, the food is very good, and they have hourly billiards upstairs. Worth a night if you have a few in Denver.

First stop in Denver on a recent trip. The history of being Colorado’s first brewpub and having the current Colorado Governor as one of the founders is appealing. Beers are fair, and there’s plenty of space inside. Right downtown and close to where the Rockies play.
