A good sports bar in Bloomington with a nice patio outside. The beer selection is great, with a nice representation of IN beers, along with others. Service was solid. Food was good, as was the value. Worth a stop.

The best beer bar in Bloomington in my opinion. They have an ever changing selection of some of the best beers available. Beer School on Tuesday nights is always fun, they bring in brewers and representatives from breweries all around the state and even outside brewery representatives from Sam Adams, Stone ect, The brewers and representatives talk about the various beers of theirs on tap, and pass out free samples as well as free swag.
The food has gotten much better in recent years. Its also a great place to catch an IU or NFL game. Special craft beer events and tap takeovers make this my favorite bar in town. Also joining their Century Club is a great way to try and keep track of new beers.
Easily the best craft bee/ sports bar in town.

Yogiís seems to me a classic college town sports bar with an excellent craft selection. Ambiance is all over the place - thereís a patio area with skylights and a main bar area in the back with lots of TVs. They seem to be constantly renovating so chances are it will be different by the time you get there. Service is very good, though Iíd be skeptical of your serverís beer recommendations. Selection is excellent - mostly a focus on Indiana/Midwest at large beers with all the regulars - Bellís, Founderís, Three Floyds, New Albany, Upland - plus a nice selection of Cali/Colorado beers. Food is mostly pub grub, and not particularly impressive at that. Cheap though. In fact, everything is very cheap, you can get just about any beer for under $5/pour. Overall, great bar if youíre in town looking to tick a lot of Midwest beers on the cheap.

Liked this place a lot! Excellent selection of taps and bottles, food was pretty good. I was there to watch the NHL playoffs, and the staff was very accommodating tuning to the channel my team was on. Staff is about 50/50 on beer knowledge, but the beer list is comprehensive and explains enough about each beer that questions should be rare. Liked the rollback patio area. A good stop for the thirsty!

The best time to visit Yogiís is during one of the special nights. For example on Sundays all Indiana beers are $1.00 off which makes Dreadnaught a steal at $4.50 a pint. The tradeoff for the great selection of locals and regional offerings is service that borders on forgetful.
I think it may be because it is directly across from the university but it always feels like I have been forgotten by the wait staff. For the best service sit at the bar. The food is nothing special - Iíd order just enough to absorb the beer(s) that you plan on ordering.
Will I come back here? Because of the specials and one off taps certainly. However do not expect the same level of attention and service you might get at a better bar. This is a diamond in the rough that needs some polish.

Best tap selection in Bloomington and changing constantly. The beer is very reasonably priced for what youíre getting and the $1 off specials they do (Sunday = Indiana, Tuesday = Michigan, Wednesday = West Coast) make it even better. I come here for good, relatively cheap food and excellent beer.
They have periodic special tappings of rare beers (usually regional) and occasionally have "tap takeovers" where a specific brewery (again, usually regional) will be offered on all of their taps.
Where they lose is atmosphere and service. Iíve started sitting at the bar consistently because the table service is just so bad. Itís not just the fact that the servers know absolutely nothing about the beer (they donít), but the service Iíve had here has just been generally unfriendly and unresponsive. Downside of a college town, I guess. But the bartenders are great: theyíre friendly, quick and know their beer.
If you go earlier, you will likely not encounter the college element at all, but the atmosphere drips it. And who can blame them being so close to campus.
Itís also cavernous, has terrible lighting, and the bathroom situation is just odd. When thereís a big sports game on, it also tends to get loud and crowded, as it does when the weekly sports radio broadcast occurs.
But I still really like this place and come here often.

Very nice to go back to Yogiís on a recent visit, with some great friends at that. Bummer that the AC was on the fritz during this infernal late summer but fans and a pleasant atmosphere made it okay. Always been kind of a strange mixture of scenes here, with oldsters coming in to watch the IU game, fratties trolling while screens blare, and others who appreciate the surprisingly deep craft menu this place has generally boasted. Itís better now than I can ever remember it being, with tons of locals and regionals, some of the best national crafts, and a few Belgian treats. Went for a bunch of Sun King, New Albanian, and the like, but the menu was extensive. Great service, as always. I look forward to the next time.

Typical sports bar ambiance. However, they have a pretty decent beer menu. Itís organzied by style, and draft offerings are highlighted in red. I had no problem finding something that I wanted to try, and they have a 4 beer sampler for $4.25. They do have some certified beer servers, but ours was not one of them. However, she was extremely friendly and prompt. I never understand why people complain about a serverís beer knowledge. As long as they know what is currently on tap- I am fine. Definitely worth checking out. Expect to find local and regionals like Upland, Sun King, BBC, Bells, Three Floyds, Goose Island, etc- including seasonals.
