I’ve had the good fortune to visit a number of great bottleshops and Zipp’s is right up there with the best of them. As a west coaster, I was thrilled to grab ultra fresh double crooked tree, oak aged la trappe, La Face Cachée de la Neige Premiere, Big John etc. Tyler, the beer buyer is one cool cat who treated me very, very well.

stopped in, met Tytoanderso for some advice on other places to visit. The selection here is staggering. I hate to say it, but I would trade my selection in AZ for this. Lots of very cool imports and a crazy amount of cool mid West stuff. Prices were fair and I could easily drop 200 dollars per trip to this place. Top F’n Notch!

Been here plenty of times, so I figure I should probably rate it. The store itself is large and has a large selection of your low grade booze/cheap beer to your most desired top shelf bourbon and limited release beers. Service is always top notch and knowledgable, and the prices are the best you’ll find in Minneapolis.

Was my local hookup for a long time, so I figured I’d give my .02. Not the huge liquor warehouse vibe but still is large enough where it doesn’t feel stuffy. You can literally walk up to 80% of the employees and start up a beer conversation. Tyler the beer guy here is awesome, gets lots of local hook ups and will hook you up if you get to know him. Great selection of imports as well as some nice domestics. Can grab a 6 pack off the shelf and ask them to single it up. Must stop in MN!

Great selection most of what you would want in singles. Great availability of others I have not seen at other places in the Twin Cities. No help really, though I really wasn’t looking for any. Decent layout, a bit stinky and dusty. Right there with Blue Max in terms of selection. Blue max wins on Belgian and Eastern European, I prefer Zipps for domestics, particularly in selection in singles. Bonus points for being right by where my Grandmother lived. Brought back memories driving past the earth apartments again. UPDATED - In further visits and pick ups by family, Tyler has been incredibly helpful.

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

A great liquor store! Huge selection of microbrews. Ben was very friendly and knowledgeable about their beer selection. Reasonable prices as well.

Great store. Fantastic selection, a great many hard-to-find brews, well-lit, helpful service. What’s not to like? Really one of the best beer stores I’ve ever found myself in.

One of the best beer stores in the Twin Cities. It is easily in my top tier of stores. They have a good selection with some of the better pricing in town. It helps that they have a huge store to spread out in. The staff is helpful and very knowledgeable. They also cellar stuff and being it out periodically. This winter they had expedition stout with a few years on it. Awesome place

From the pictures online, I thought this place would be much bigger. From the parking lot I doubted the 700 bottle count listed above... Lo and behold, the room continues to grow as you walk inside and look around. An exansive selection is easily navigated from wine to beer to liquor. Well displayed and easy to get a good grasp on what-was-where before jamming the cart full of mixed sixers, bombers, and 750’s. Certainly a must-stop place for brew in the cities. Cheers Tyler!

One of my all time favorite liquor stores. I’ve had many friends who have worked here and spend lots of time. As far as service it depends who you ask, Tyler is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and responsible for their great beer selection. Value is pretty standard. Maybe not the best part of town but it adds to the experience, you might see the guy you gave a buck on the street in line with local college kids.
