92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 OlaDunk (14) , Czech Republic | April 23, 2013 Zly Casy is unparallelled in Praha in terms of selection. Last time I was there they had 36 beers on tap. Now I believe there’s 12 more? Anyhow, no way anyone can get through that list in an evening. For exploring beers you never heard of, excellent place. Also, never been served anything that seemed out of condition. The upstairs is open until 2AM which is a great plus for me. Decent beer after midnight is hard come by in Praha. The food is ok, but nothing special. Ambiance downstairs great, upstairs ok. Mostly good to excellent service. The owner deserves a medal for being a beacon of beer enlightenment to us poor sods who once thought Staropramen was a good brewery. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 MartinT (521) Montreal, Quebec | March 11, 2013 If you don’t have time to get out of Prague and seek out countryside Czech brews yourself, this bar will give you a whirlwind tour through its many taps of both obscure and well-established microbreweries. The basement is where it’s at though for that amazing Czech beer list. Czech-style country music was playing too when we were there, which was highly entertaining. Unless you plan on coming around time of opening, make sure you have reservations. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 JulienHuxley (130) Trois-Rivieres, Quebec | March 10, 2013 Place that has an upper and lower bar, best selection in Czech Rep. Lower bar is better, a bit harder to find but keep going once inside and you’ll get there. Everything is reserved, as usual our waiter told us. We were still able to grab a table before dinner for a few pints. One of the few places we’ve been too that had Czech music playing (country-ish) so that was cool. Prices were good, didn’t try the food. Waiter was kind and spoke good english. Easy to get to by tram. A top notch place. | 82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 TheCametron (20) , Czech Republic | February 7, 2013 Cracking pub with a ridiculous number of taps. It’s a wee trek from the tourist trail but well worth the time. There’s an upstairs and downstairs that sell conflicting beers. The majority of taps are Czech micro and not particularly interesting but there’s also gems ahoy. The food is alright. I’ve eaten there a few times and it’s great value but sometimes they throw you a curveball. Zly Casy translates to ’Bad Times’. I love that. This pub is a cracker. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 19/20 heckfy (5) , Czech Republic | October 16, 2012| Updated May 5, 2013 Largest selection of good beer in Czech Republic.
| 40 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 Swans (17) , France | October 13, 2012| Updated May 5, 2013 A lot of taps but i asked for three and is finished! Don’t serve any of the bottles you see there and you can smoke inside... | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 17/20 dinkle50 (54) Chicago, Illinois | September 8, 2012| Updated May 5, 2013 This place may be off the beaten path, but it is well worth it if you are in Prague. Huge selection of beer. Keep in mind what they have upstairs is different than downstairs. You can buy beer at either bar and bring it up or down. The staff was friendly to us even though we don’t speak Czech. I’d go back here for sure. | 90 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 exile103 (2) | August 20, 2012| Updated May 5, 2013 Excellent beer store! The shopkeeper I see there is most helpful, speaks English, and is enthusiastic about beers. She’s there because she loves it, too, not just for a job. Their selection of Czech beers is stellar, esp. when the Trebonice beers are in season. And they have (thank the BEER GODS!!!) American craft beers from breweries such as Founders, Dirty Dog, Left Hand and Anderson Valley! | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 Christian (197) Odense, Denmark | August 12, 2012| Updated May 5, 2013 The selection of beers is outstanding and a must visit for the fan of Czech beer. We arrived early and stayed well into the afternoon. There was a smell of soap that interferred with the beer aroma, and unfortunately it didn’t go away as the pub filled up. It was a little better in the back of the room, farthest away from entrance and the toilets... We certainly had some excellent beers and a good time.
Visited again, July 2012. It’s only getting better with an upstairs bar, and now (also at opening time) a little less of the cleaning smell. Many new beers for me on the many taps, and in generally good to excellent condition. | 96 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 andre1 (6) , Estonia | July 16, 2012| Updated May 5, 2013 Super place . The best local IPA ever had . |
