Can’t put it into words. Perhaps the best beer in Germany at the moment, brewed and served by one of the most humble, friendly and genuine people I’ve ever met in the industry. And the food was legitimately some of the best I’ve ever had in Germany. Barley malt-crusted schnitzel hell yes.

Typical franconian Gasthaus (read: wood on the walls, low ceilings, friendly service etc.) with a nice patio/beergarden in the backyard. But that’s it already! This place is not better than many other nice locations in Franconia. So the hype is hard to understand. If this place is too quiet for You, try the lively Löwenbräu in Buttenheim!!!

Visited several times - and what a great place. The beers are lovely, food is great and staff is superb :-). Placed not far from Bamberg, being in the area it would be a natural choise to visit this place. Traditionel german brauhaus deco, the food is german brauhaus food with a twist, and they do lovely desserts :-). The beers are very nice and served well condtioned.. Great place, hope to be back soon. :-)

Probably the finest beer stop in Bavaria. Very personal service with a nice tour of the old brewery. We all had the schnitzel for dinner which was made with spent grains and it was unbelievable. The beer was out of this fucking world. Un-fucking-believable. You haven’t been on a German beer tour until you’ve come here. Thank you again, Andres!

What a place! Our best Schnitzel during 4 days i Franken and an awesome Zoigl beer. Andreas Ganstaller showed us the museum brewery and we got to try some of the last drops of the Dark smoked Marzen. We also happened to meet by chance Frank Wetzel (Bierregion-Franken) Nice guy. I will return sometime in the near future. Thats for sure! (Visited April 27th 2012)

Visited on 18/07/2012. Reached by walking along the cycle track from the 907 bus terminus in Drosendorf, which took about an hour and was pleasant amongst the wheat fields and orchards, with a view of the Giechburg castle across the valley. I was the first customer of the day a couple of minutes after opening and received a friendly welcome from the owners. Got to sample a couple of great beers (the keller and smoked Marzen) and sit in a pleasant, leafy courtyard. Enjoyed it so much I missed the last (1806) bus back to Bamberg and had to repeat the walk to Drosendorf instead. A great experience all round.

Dunno why, but is somehow forgot to rate this place. Visited 2 times august 2012 and had a grand time at both visits. Great food, better beer, actually they are top class, and mostly of all a very friendly and personal welcome and service by Andreas and his wife. While looking though the food menu i had a question about one dish, then went to order something else. We had our starters and then a little later Andreas came to our table with a freshly cooked small sample of the dish i asked him about earlier so that i could try that aswell. Second night he tooks us around the old brewery and cellar. Great value for money. Outstanding place, a must go if in the area. Thanks Andreas!

Zoiglstube was closed, but the door was open, and the lady of the house gave us a sample of the kellerbier and a litre swing top bottle to take home. Even showed us the old brewery.
Sadly zoigl only on fridays and the strong bottled beers were not available yet, but no doubt we will visit again.

Nice, classic place with the usual dark wood, long tables and a biergarten. We had mentioned in advance that we were coming, and got to taste more than the two (outstanding) beers on tap. Even without this,I’m sure service would still have been quick and efficient with a big smile. The food was classic dishes, but extra tasty
