Visited on a Wednesday afternoon. Really nice gigantic beer hall, pretty typical touristy German service, kind of quiet, just off rude but efficient. The beer is OK, not as good as I expected. Prices are on par with everywhere. They have a terrasse.

Finding a table. Getting our orders taken. Then upon bringing the order, not getting it, because we’re not going to eat, so we have to move to the standing tables. Moving to the standing tables, without any possibility to sit down after half a day of walking around the city. This time having to wait very long to be served. Beer came quickly once ordered, coffee seemed to take forever. Pretty rude and careless waiters, I dare use the word shitty service. No real interesting vibe, just crowded, busy and unfriendly atmosphere. Won’t visit again.

Nice brewpub - stopped in for a quick beer during an April hailstorm in Duesseldorf. I had a beer, and my son had some pommes frites. Quick service, and of course, nice Alt.

My second Altbier Brauhaus in Dusseldorf. Even worse than the first one. Busy, full of rowdy football fans, spartan decor, very poor service and again only 1 beer available.

Visited 02/2014, GC Tour de Rheinländle. Had a very nice midday gulash soup here, along with a few rounds of Alt, poured straight from the wooden kegs. If you love backtalk and an attitude, you will love the wood-dry-as-Alt Köbes service here. Good value for money, with a fair amount of bluecollar locals in their 70s and workers over midday. Pretty good value for money.

Service was quick. I stood outside because the weather was much better than back home. Probably my least favorite Alt, but still decent.

Place was really crowded, but we got lucky and the waiter got us a table upstairs, where normally only the Duesseldorf Elite dines. Therefore its a little strange to write a review about the place, because its abnormal to sit there. Its calm up there, because there isn’t as much space as in the common "Brauhaus", but its really appreciable to eat there, because you can talk in a normal voice and people will understand you. I changed levels after a while to get the original "Schlüssel Brauhaus" flair, which includes singing, laughing and drinking, all in a nice kind of way in an ambiance pretty much made for those features. The Brauhaus is somehow centered around the german holiday "Karneval" which plays still a big role in Düsseldorf. Therefore many accesoires related to Karneval can be found there as well as many pictures of ancient Düsseldorf. Its very large, you dont have to reserve a table necessarily, but it wont do any bad. The food is tasty, but traditional german, it is what you can expect of a locality like this. Nearly all dishes include meat. The nice thing about this place is, like in all Düsseldorfer Brauhäuser, the waiter will bring you a fresh beer, when you’ve finished your drink, without even ordering a new one (when you got enough, you just put the coaster on top of your glass and the waiter won’t bring you any new beer). Editors Note: If you are about to visit Duesseldorf, I would be really happy to do a in person trade with you. Don’t hesitate, just contact me.

A larger traditional beer hall in the city center. Service was quick and friendly during my visit. Only the alt was available and I didn’t try the food. Prices were in line with the other halls around town.

Visited September 2012.

This is located on a main road heavily traveled by pedestrians during the night as it’s full of bars and restaurants. I chose to stand outside and get my glass(es) of their alt. It’s probably the most bitter and the hoppiest alt I had in Dusseldorf that night. It was also one of the better ones. The service was overworked but still fast and friendly. I tried some liverwurst that was good but that’s like calling bologna good; they all taste about the same. The beer was reasonably priced but the food was a bit expensive. The other patrons were all friendly and in good spirits. Lots of tourists in town as I heard more than my fair share of English being spoken. Also, the next morning while walking around town before we headed out they were brewing and the whole street smelled amazing.

May 2013. May first stop during a day in Duesseldorf. I ate on the patio on the pedestrian street, a great place for lunch. The service was attentive and friendly; the food was OK. Only one beer, and that is OK. I went inside and it was a fairly large place, but it was nearly empty in the afternoon.
