Large Brauereigaststätte in several buildings, several entrances, a lot of different rooms. Next to a brewery they also have a distillery. Altbier, Weizen (!), and a stronger version of the Alt, Sticke (twice a year). There exists an even stronger version, Doppelsticke (bottle only). In summer the whole place in front becomes a drinking area.

Another great brauhaus. Didn’t go for food but went for beer. Distinct smell of spent grain as they actually brew in this place compared to pretty much all of the others in the old town. Views of the kettle and the mash tun make it pretty cool with all of the small rooms and a virtual maze to move around the building. Oh yeah, the beer is awesome!

Who cares that they don’t do full meals? Who cares that they only do one beer? (unless you count the Weizenbier, which is really only for Bavarians and others who don’t know any better) This is a great place to drink and Uerige Alt is a great beer. It’s hardly surprising that they have expanded to take over a large area outside; Dusseldorfers do seem to know their beer.

Nice place to visit, very nice inside, very german style decor, very large place, many rooms. The lady in the mens bathroom was interesting but I guess that seems to be a german custom. Beer was very good. enjoyed the offering

think of a block party;people drinking on both sides of the street,around one corner,and really in all directions up to 75 meters "off the property". the inside is made up of various rooms.if you go to the first room on the right-entering at the main enterance-you get the most wonderful brewery smell! the alt is good,but i prefer the alt at schlussel!

Great Altbier served in a wonderful setting with a maze of little rooms and a large terrace dominating both sides of the street. Very lively in the evenings. A must when visiting Düsseldorf.

Historic gasthaus in Altstadt Düsseldorf. This place is essentially the Mecca of Altbier and they definitely live up to their reputation. As far as ambiance, it seems like just about every other rhinelandish pub with the exception of its aura from its significance. The Altbier is, of course, great - especially during their Sticke days. Service is awesome - traditional Rhinelander. This is a must visit for anyone coming through or near Düsseldorf.

Well known, yet not overly touristy brewpub in the Altstadt. At the time of visit the beer selection consisted of a Altbier and a Weizenbier, so one could call it rather limited. However, the Altbier itself is rather good. I did not order anything to eat, but the prices seemed acceptable. If you have time to visit just few of the brewpubs in Düsseldorf, pick this to your list.

Charming place with multiple rooms - smoking area, varios dining rooms, some smaller alcoves and corridors. Rustic interior, lots of details to admire. And great beer.
