This is mainly a restaurant, but they have a good bottle list as well as eight taps too. I didn’t eat, but popped in on a Sunday evening after dinner. The service was both friendly and attentive. There were a couple of new ticks for me, which is always nice, and they had a good list of some of the more widely available lambics, trappists etc.

I think this must be one of the better stops in Ghent. Food list looked really nice, but we didn’t have any of it! Next time hopefully! Nice atmosphere. We went there on a saturday afternoon around 5PM and the place was quiet, but getting busier. Service was quick and friendly. Selection was decent with some nice Dolle stuff, but no real craft beer. Value was OK. I’d recommend this bar, and there aren’t many in Ghent were I can say that.

Small cozy Belgian bar on the otherside of the river from Waterhuis. Try to sit in the top area by the window or the bar. The downstairs area by the river is a bit gloomy. Very nice beer list and the guy in there knew what he was talking about. Food is good honest Belgian pub grub. Nothing fancy but decent and they know how to match their beer with food. I had the beef stew and the guy introduced me to Gouden Classic, which went perfectly with the food. Definitely a place I’d come back to on a future visit to Ghent. Beer list isn’t spectacular but has they always have a Dupont beer on tap, which is a winner for me everytime. When I was there is was the Biologic version of Moinette Blonde and it was in fantastic form. Only downside is prices are a little high.

Visited 2013-14. Pricy bar/eatery with a tired Art Déco dungeon feel to it, by the canal, with odd bric-a-brac cluttering the way to the kitchen, which did not inspire me to dine here, despite an extensive menu. Focus is on pricier fare, OK traditional Belgian cuisine like stews and steak/friet, whereas the beer list is traditional and very safe as well, maybe not counting the mentioned still-rare-in-Flanders-Dupont. Had a trappist and Gentse Tripel here, but would not recommend as a beer place per se. I could see charming bohemian nighthawks congregating here afterhours, though.

Discovered this by accident many years ago and I’m a steady customer since. The atmosphere is relaxed and quite cosy, in summer I prefer the little tables on the canal side. Staff changes regularly but some exceptions not mentioned, are usually friendly and helpful. Food is usually very much okay too, they have great ’stoverij’ made with Westmalle Dubbel and Rodenbach, as well as interesting pasta dishes, tasty meatballs in tomato sauce, and so on; I recommend following the weekly suggestions. As for the beer list: a bit stereotypical and overpriced indeed, and clearly less extensive than it used to be (I even had Westvleteren 12 here years ago), which is a pity; they do have a Dupont beer on tap, usually Moinette Blonde, a rare sight in Flanders. In all, very acceptable but perhaps not too exciting if you’re looking for rare beers. Do check out their whisky list too if you pass by.

Visited on july 31. Very nice outside terrace next to the canal. It was very quiet (thursday evening) with just a few guests sitting outside. Beer selection was decent, nothing special. Food was good, service was friendly.

Decent selection for me that i’m not a " expert " about Belgian beers .. We really enjoiyed the food .. Unfortunately was bad weather outside and couldn’t sit in the terrace on the canal ..the guy who served us was funny and helpful .. Good place

The beer list is very standard & the prizes were high for beer. None of the beers available were new to me. Place is food oriented, we didn’t eat here. We just tried a draft sample opting not too pay the asking price for the regular beers. Service was friendly & helpful. The place seemed a bit dead, there were almost no costumers which seemed a bit odd considering just how packed some of the bars we had visited prior to this one had been. This place is not particularly interesting for beer. The food looked like solid enough Belgian fare but I only glanced at the list. This may be an interesting place to eat at but not for beer only.

bit confusing tap list . appart from that, nothing special on the menu, except for the prices that are VERY high . staff was friendly but a bit bored .. we didnt eat there, so no clue if the food is good or not

Sat outside at the canal. Good food, decent selection. Was very calm the times I was there, but it was early and might get busier later on.
