74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 Theydon_Bois (372) The ’Sham, England | December 26, 2012| Updated April 7, 2013 Visited on Saturday 15th December before and after the Quinns game.
Place opened around August/September ’12 and I guess you could call it Twickenhams first craft beer bar.
Large single room with a slightly annexed area at the rear (more for dining I think), wooden floors, mix of red leather US diner stlye seating and wooden chairs and tables.
The bar is on the right as you enter consisting of 2 banks of 6 taps on the tiled back wall with 6 cask lines between them at the front.
Draft beers on my visit(s) amongst others were from Milk St, Porterhouse, Grain, Twickenham Fine Ales and Lost Brewing (their own brewery enterprise).
Decent bottled list of 50 or more including London locals, Belgians and US stuff (I’ll add these when I get chance).
Service was prompt and friendly, tasters were offered.
Ambiance rated as 3 as fiarly quiet on my visit(s) so need to return another time which I definately will. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 Dannybro (12) , Oman | September 24, 2012 Brand new craft beer and cocktail bar from the lost group currently showcasing its offerings for a month before going into refit
It has a solid range of craft kegs, cask and bottles inc taps from Kernel, london fields and Redchurch. I had a great Redchurch IPA on keg before trying an equally hoppt Brodies Hackney out of the fridge
Schedule for refit in October I hope this pubs thrives. Too many pubs in the region tailor there offering to selling vast quantities of larger on rugby days!!
When I go back after refit I hope to be able to review in more detail |
