Very busy on a Saturday evening, but very food orientated. Died once serving was over, not really much of a bar feel to it despite the layout. Couldn’t imagine drinking here much if I was a local.

Former brewery (brewing ceased in the 1950’s) in the touristy heart of BA; now only a large Gasthof and also a large hotel; one house-beer(from Mahrs) is available… If You want better beers and better food, try the Kachelofen (St.Georgen!) or the Schlenkerla in the neighbourhood. But avoid to enter the Ambräusianum!!!

Sat outside, peaceful place and good spot for catching the tour groups from the corner of your eye. I’d rather eat at its neighbor (Kachlofen, and they have St Georgen), drink at its neighbor (Schlenkerla), and even do both at its other neighbor (Ambräusianum), but it’s definitely worth the twenty minutes off your feet for the tick. My service was OK but it was really, really slow and bad for the woman near me.

A restaurant and hotel with a beergarden nearby Schlenkerla in the tourist heart of Bamberg. Beer tickers have to visit if they want to try Ringlas Helles, the house beer from Mahrs Bräu. A thin, average Helles, in my opinion. Other beers on draught are Mahrs U, Mahrs Weisse, Spezial Rauchbier and Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen. (Visited April 29th 2012)
