62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20 ContemplateBeer (80) Louisville, Kentucky | December 2, 2012| Updated March 2, 2013 This place is a newer construction, but it has this old engine house vibe, which is obviously new, but still nicely done. Most of the seating is downstairs, and when the weather is nice there are places to sit outside; it’s a beautiful area just outside of Louisville. Service is mostly coffee/food centric- I’ve haven’t talked to them much about beer, but that isn’t their primary focus, anyway. Selection is varied; they have some beers from GI and Mikk, for instance, as well as some guest Belgians here and there- nothing eye popping, but solid for the small number of bottles available. The food here is great, really great- the smoked salmon sandwich is an area fave for me, and their small plates menu is full of winners (see the website). The prices are really very good for the quality. Not a beer stop, but a nice small meal stop, with perhaps a solid bottle of beer to boot. Your lady would be happy if you dropped in. Get a latte on the way out, along with some of the delicious treats (the goat cheese brownie is fantastic). |
