A very nice down to earth shop on Dalry Road just a short walk from Haymarket station. The beer range was great and the service delightful. They also brew the occasional beer which is available to buy in the shop. Appellation Wines deservedly won a Ratebeer Best in Scotland award this year and I may be biased, having shared a glass or two with Ash (the owner) and being pals with Craig (described on the website as their “resident beer geek”) - if I can be forgiven a bit of name dropping - but I think it’s an excellent place and certainly a must visit. Visited on 4th December 2016. Lovely little bottle shop a few mins walk from Haymarket station. Had a prearranged visit to collect a bunch of Scottish rakes for Scopey. Nice looking place with a great selection of bottles along the right hand side of the store. Met up with Ash who had pre sorted said list of rakes plus some more that, if I’d had a Sherpa with me would have also travelled south. Had a good chat about beer and rating until he had to dash off to arrange a wine event. Definitely a place I would return to. Recommended.

If you think you’ve found a 90+ bottle shop you’ll be disappointed. Good range of Scottish beers, but many other places have these. Some USA bottles too. A few more unusual ones from around the world if you’re willing to pay above £5. Plus points for tastings that happen seemingly regularly, also for wine.

Visited in August. Nice little shop that carries wine and bier. Great, knowledgeable girl that helped me navigate around Scottish stuff. Selection is not the greatest, but they do have an interesting selection of local craft, and not only Brewdog. I managed to leave with a couple of good bottles. Prices are very decent, definitely cheaper compared to London. Worth a visit, if you’re in the neighborhood.

(Visited on Sunday 21/02/2016 – afternoon) this place was a little out of the way from our centrally located Hotel but visited to attend a tasting with fellow ratebeerians. Following the tasting I picked up a nice range of Scottish beer bottles to bring back for the CPH crew, the selection was pretty good but was informed their other sister store held allot more bottles at that time. Still worth visiting here though especially if combining a visit to the nearby Stockbridge Tap while heading back central.

Nice little bottle shop with a large, varied selection. Ash (the owner) is always extremely helpful. Also hosts regular, well-priced tastings.

Small shop close to Haymarket station. Great selection of mostly local and american beers, some hard to find ones, like many brewdog abstakts. Prices are good. We were invited to share a beer with the owner, very nice. I showed him a whish list and as he knew the brewmaster of one of them (Stewart First World Problems), he called him if he still has that one. Next day he gave it to me without any charge, many thanks for him and for the brewer!

This is one of Edinburgh’s best bottle shops. For a relatively small retail space, the choice of beers is incredible – I always find something here I’ve not tried before. The staff are really friendly and know their stuff, too. Prices are fair. It’s not far from Haymarket train station, which is pretty handy for me.

2014-07-09. Nice little shop with a good selection of Scottish beers and some imports. Picked up a few BrewDog beers and some other Scottish stuff. Cashier was friendly and recommended a few other local shops to potentially find beers we were looking for. I had heard of the places from Ratebeer she was suggesting which implies that she knows what she is talking about.) The store was a touch warm (I was sweating but had also just walked a fair ways to get there) so my preference would be bottles from the fridge. They had a good number of the older vintages of BrewDog AB beers but the prices were high enough that I opted to skip them without being able to check Ratebeer ratings first (my 3G access failed me in a time of need!). In fairness those are tough to find, as were some of the other pricier items. Other prices seemed more reasonable. Pretty good shop, but North American visitors may wish to lower their expectations if they are only visiting once as like any shop, inventory will vary depending on the day you go.
