To preface this review, when you’re trying to live up to the legendary Ann Arbor Ashley’s, it’s inevitable that you’re going to miss the mark. This is a converted Uno Chicago Grill, and it shows--the feel of the whole place is pretty generic. It was also pretty empty, though we were there a bit early on a Monday night. It definitely has a strong beer list (though not at the level of the Ann Arbor location) and good food (though charging an extra dollar for tortillas when you only brought three with the fajitas in the first place?). Waitstaff was attentive, though perhaps a little too much so (didn’t really get the idea of being there mainly for the beer). Brought the wrong beers for one round (though the names were close). I mean, it’s a good place with good food and great beer, but it’s just not the special thing that the original Ashley’s is.

Lucky enough to live within a five minute walk of this place. Great tap list, great bar food. Burgers are awesome, & they actually have a killer Cobb Salad, too. They’ve recently been putting a bunch of effort into the Westland location. So much so, in fact, that I prefer this to the Ann Arbor location. Why? It’s MUCH larger, meaning it doesn’t feel cramped & you rarely need to wait for a table. Even during busy hours, wait times are minimal (if at all). Also, they have a new beer garden with outdoor tables & lounge chairs. More events have been popping up with special tap takeovers & bands playing in the garden. Great service about 90% of the time. You get the occasional airhead server, but at a place of this size, I guess that’s life. All in all, this place rocks & it’s nice to see them constantly improving it.

Ashley’s was very busy on a Saturday night in part to a Belgian festival. Looking over the list I was impressed with the selection and diversity. This was as close as you will get to a Belgian bar without actually going to Europe.
The consequence was that there were fewer regular drafts. I have to assume that the selection mirrors that at the location in downtown Ann Arbor. If so this is a great place to come with plenty of parking. Not too far off the interstate it is definitely a restaurant that I see myself revisiting in the future.

Ashley’s, a national level beer destination, has done some nice things here. This has a nice selection of beers, american micros, some nice imports. Food is pretty good, it is a restaurant area with really good beer and a bar area, the bar area is pretty fun. They have a real ale festival which is a lot of fun and a nice way to taste cask ales. Over time they are doing more and more events here like the Belgian fest. This has moved it to the beer destination in western wayne county. Good to see them upgrading things over time. The thing they have over Ann Arbor is space and are using it for really great events.

I was there at thanksgiving week for a Lions game. Good beer list. And a nice Michigan section on the list. I have heard even better things about the original location in Ann Arbor. Must go there next.

Was excited to try this place after going to the Ann Arbor location. This is much more of a commercial and family venue compared to the Ann Arbor location. Has two seperate bars which I was not aware of until I was walking out. Nice selection of beers on tap, but i already ticked most of them, but they did have quite a few of seasonal beers including Kuhnhenn, Arbor, Shorts, and Founders.had a nice food selection and the cesar wrap I had was average. Worth a stop in my opinion.

Amazing beer selection (taps and bottle). Waitress was spot on with the beer, knowing exactly what choices to bring my boyfriend and I when we mentioned what we liked. She was also quick and friendly. Food is a little pricey and chainey, but does the trick (their sampler is nice since it holds all of my favorite pub food: jalapeno poppers and fried mushrooms!). The place is spaced out into different walled off sections so sound and ruckus is never overwhelming. They have a nice "frequent drinker" incentive card that I intend to fill up quickly!
