I’ve been here one time that was included in a little Ann Arbor day paired with Jolly Pumpkin. I really liked the vibe inside with the staff and fellow patrons. All very nice. A nice amount of seating in the small space without feeling cramped. A decent tap list with a lot of local options. Grabbed a couple pours and paired it with an out of this world cheese plate and some hummus. Overall a nice stop with the light shined on that delicious cheese variety.

This bar is very close to the university and you can tell. Definitely a student bar, a bit of a dive and sticky. Service was OK. Selection is why you come here, a huge amount of taps and all over the range. We didn’t eat. Prices were OK, they do have daily beer specials which make it better. A good place to try a variety although only pre-set samplers.

Its really all about the rotating tap list here, which is actually pretty legit. There are at least 10 rotating taps, I think a lot more. And their consistent tap list is good as it is.

A pleasant-looking pub just across from the university campus. Finished in old wood and much deeper than wide, there are many tables here divided into smaller sections. The tap and bottle list are large, and the selection is excellent. Of the beers I know, almost all are fine to excellent, so I also trust that the ones I don’t know are likely good as well. Service was slow, and the waiter tried to serve too many tables at once and lost track. Not much personality there, either, and the food was just average. The beer selection, and the proximity to the fun part of town make this a place to return to.

Awesome place to try things you cant get anywhere else. They have a huge selection of bottles and interesting beers on tap. This would be the place to go in Ann Arbor to get ticks.

There is no better selection of beer in Ann Arbor. From Dogfish 120 and Dogfish World Wide to Trappiste Rochefort 10 and Double Crooked Tree, this place has it all. Recently tried beers from a brewery I had not heard of--Oddside Ales--and they were excellent.
The food is decent, but nothing to rave about. Pizza and burgers are good. I would go for the Lineman Burger if you like big sloppy ones.
They have a beer tour, where you are rewarded for trying a certain number of beers. Highly recommended for the beer buff (as well as the scotch/whiskey buff). Need to get there early, as it fills up quick once grad students head out of their office around 4:30 or 5 pm. Certainly the place to be for beer snobs.

Reviewed after dozens of visits. Set in the heart of Univ. of Michigan’s campus it can attract plenty of young/and or inexperienced drinkers, but it still a better pick than anything on South University. They do a fair share of events and tap take overs while spamming your e-mail all day about it, but still have a larger selection than all other bars around the area. Service is very hit or miss depending on who waits on you and the food isn’t great, but good. Selection is Ashley’s strongest suit as there’s really only the brewpubs and Bar Louie that can compete.
