I’m not sure what "BeerWife" and their "class studies" is talking about... because The Avalanche is awesome, and most certainly not owned by Breckenridge Brewery (which yes, does have a beer called Avalanche Ale). True, they don’t have that many of their own beers on tap yet, but the ones they do are all fantastic. Delicious pizza too!

This place SUCKS!! 2 taps of beer that isnt even made there, this place is only serving beers made by Breckenridge brewery and calling the beers their own since they are owned by Breckenridge. It’s bull crap!! The hippy food is nasty too, pizza that’s 1/2 raw is not tasty with a brew! In a judged setting these beers would not make to a second round. The porter is out of style guidelines closer to a stout. Side note: As a BJCP judge we call places like this "Ale Houses" not breweries. Other reviewers with no training can say what they want, my review is based on years of professional training & class studies.

The avalanche is THE classic establishment in silverton and they now make beer! good beer!
